This is a good sci-fi/ fantasy movie.
Kerry Ryan Maloney
Not just bad in a general way, but in a bad-even-for-DTV-cinema kind of way.
Mike Sehorn
The acting was a bit weak and the plot was thin.

I consider myself a very well rounded movie enthusiast. That being said, take my review and do with it what you will. It is basically a decent budget action flick that has an easy to follow story, albeit somewhat flimsy. Some of the scenes look as if they were shot in vacant parking lots with budget film equipment, but nothing a little imagination couldn't overlook. If you're looking for a decent, free, action movie - this would suffice. It was so 'just ok' that I cannot justify spending much time writing a more detailed review, but seeing as the only other review is a 5 star - I wanted to give you an honest review from a normal human being at the very least.

There are a few things to bear in mind about this movie. It's a cheesy kung-fu movie. It isn't meant to be so uber amazing that it wins oscars, so you must go in being aware of this or you will not enjoy it. That being said, I enjoyed watching this movie because I LOVE cheesy kung-fu movies. I'm still a huge Power Rangers fan as well, so I had a good time. The story was strong and acting was great, albeit also a bit cheesy in a couple characters. I'm a Johnny Bosch fan and I thought this was one of his best live action films. He plays an assassin who seeks the help of Ray Park's and Esteban Cueto's characters to battle an army of demons that have escaped from hell. There is plenty of butt kicking and gunplay as these characters wage war against the demons and save the world. The ending was incomplete for my taste, but it's still worth watching. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

The film uses cartoon boxes and subscripts to give you that animated superhero/grindhouse feel to the film, but fails to achieve that goal by the lack of graphic violence, being light on blood and babes. The film opens with the fighting and burial of the demon "Legion" in the desert. It then moves into three quick subplots. Max (ray Park) is an English accent mercenary leading a killing team in Los Angeles. He has a big gig coming up. In a major plot point we discover he had been dead for 20 minutes before recovering. The second subplot involves Ninja assassin Ryu (Johnny Yong Bosch) also operating in LA. The third subplot is Cain (Esteban Cueto) not to be confused with the Seagal character Kane. They are both big lumbering individuals who use the slow motion one punch technique. Cain, a Night Templar who has aged gracefully, also is a master of ancient weapons such as conduit.

The three come together and must fight Legion and his minions before he can open the gates of one of the kingdoms of hell and release millions of demons into LA, as if we would notice. The catch is, once a demon is killed, it can enter a new soul and turn an innocent into another killing demon.

The film started out good, but then the plot become disjointed. They needed to make one of the big three a woman. Max had good lines which gave us some comic relief. The other two characters couldn't deliver their lines and bored me to tears. Part of a Walmart 10 pack.

Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

I've been a fan of Johnny Yong Bosch since his days on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. I have been a fan of Ray Park's since i first saw him in X-Men. The two make a dynamite screen duo. The movie was paced well, had that nice comic book feel, and gave the viewer a nice sence of peril that the devil may just win this one.
