More About the Author

I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:

The Heller series (first book Heller) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer Tilly Chalmers and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss Heller.

The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties) features police officer Tess Fuller and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft.

My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be!

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Congratulations to JD Nixon, and expanding Heller's world and getting to Amazon! A whole new group of people will now be able to read and enjoy this great series.

Tilly Chalmers is a would-be actress who decides she needs to make some actual money. She applies for a job with a security company, owned by the very mysterious (and very hot) Heller, and has all sorts of mishaps before she even gets to the interview. Despite everything, she's hired. As she soon finds out, the job has more than it's fair share of danger, great pay, great benefits, and a whole company full of magnificant men!

Put one fairly inept gal with a bunch of very capable security guards, and chaos is sure to follow. "Heller" has mystery, action, suspense, romance, and a little lust, all tempered with a generous dose of humor. It's a fun and exciting read, as are the rest of the books that have been published so far. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next in the series.

I was introduced to HELLER by an advert on Kindle for a free download. But how good could a free book be? Let me tell you HELLER should be mandatory reading for all cozy mystery fans; as well as cozy romance fans...Oh Hell for anyone who enjoys a snappy, funny fun read.
Matilda Chalmers is a likable, aspiring actress who can't act. When she lands a temp job with Heller Security and Surveillance company in between acting assignments, her whole life changes. And believe me Heller Security is never the same.
The author uses great imagination to get our hero into predicaments that would try the patience of saints. Wonderful plot flow and great secondary characters keep the reader interested and wanting to know more.
What have you got to loose...try one...and like me you'll get the rest! 5*'s

Finally, JD Nixon is official with Amazon via Smashwords!!!

You will be captivated by Tillie, Heller and the Heller's family. JD Nixon writes fascinatingly unique stories with characters that become real. I was hooked on this story even before I decided whether or not I liked it; the writing just grabbed me. I love the male characters and Tilly's developing relationships with them.

Tillie, an unsuccessful actress, is just looking for a way to pay rent without have to sleep with her sleazy landlord when she applies for a position at Heller's. Her interview from arrival to the end is a perfect example of the "trouble magnet" that one of the associates labels her.
Although she is hired as in client relations position, Tillie soon moves into the security side of the business as a security escort since she is not licensed to be a bodyguard. Although she doesn't pay much attention to the warnings that the job isn't as glamorous as most people imagine, it doesn't take long before she discovers that truth for herself. Some of the clients are nice and some of the are just plain nuts. Tilly has a lot to learn, but she is open for it.

The best part of the book is Tillie growing relationship with Heller's "family", an odd mixture of emotionally damaged but special individuals who are drawn to Tillie's warm heart.

Warning: Most people who like this book are drawn to buy all of the others immediately and wait anxiously for the next book in the series.

This is just another one of those books where the heroine spends X-amount of pages going back and forth in her head about whether or not she should bang her undeniably gorgeous boss. The book is completely predictable and the characters are so flat. Tilly, the female lead, is almost cheesy with how often we're reminded that she's tall and beautiful and has great boobs and how every man she encounters can't help but get the urge to rape her. It drives me crazy.
Heller is so freaking good looking and ..... oh wait that's THE ONLY THING about him mentioned in the book. I can't tell you how many times the author comments about his good looks and his insanely tall height and his big muscles and his sexy deep voice. Every female in the book goes head over heels crazy for him but nope, he only wants danger magnet Tilly whose as airheaded and foolhardy as they come. She's just another bimbo six foot freak that screws everything up and has to wait for the big, tall, strong guy to come fix everything.
I finished the book, but only because I hate leaving things incompleted.
Feel free to disagree with me, and please don't let this deter you from the book this is just my opinion.

This is a freebie!?! Where do I even begin with this review? Well first let me say what an ass I feel like because In my head I was thinking that this book would probably suck because it was a freebie. Can I say how happy I am to be so wrong? I started off reading this book at 10pm and told myself I would just read 1 chapter to see how I like it. Well 11:30 came around and I told myself I would stop reading at midnight and next thing I know it's 130 in the morning so I said ok when 2am comes around I'm putting it down. Needless to say I didn't go to bed till 3am and I had to wake up for work at 530 this morning. I don't know what it was I just couldn't put this book down. Yes actually I kinda do know what it was. First off Matilda "Tilly" totally rocks. I love how she is so hardcore but sweet and caring too! The best part is that she doesn't even know she's hardcore. She doesn't take crap ...well not a lot of it anyway and I love that about her too. Second reason I couldn't put this book down was because of Heller. Just when I start thinking what a douchebag jerk face he is for saying or doing something that pisses me off he does something else that makes me smile and sigh but then just like that he turns right back around and makes my stomach fall into my vagina and I'm cussing him out!! Also the side characters are freaking kick ass and i just fell in luv with Daniel and Niq..I'm officially addicted to this series and getting ready to buy book2 but had to come on here and give my review so those of you that thought like I did will know that this actually an awesome read. I'll probably stay up till the wee hours of the morning again reading book 2 but who cares ...I can sleep when I'm dead!
