About the Author
Tracy Grant was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. His interest in writing and music were both put to use as the Senior Editor for Straight From the Street, a D.C. based music magazine, from 1994 to 1998. Tracy also attended graduate school at Georgetown, where he was a tutor and a teaching assistant in the English department. While in graduate school, Tracy began freelance writing for several publications, including Generation Next and YSB. He is a frequent contributor to Today's Black Woman, Black Men, BET Weekend, Rap Sheet, Mad Rhythms, XXL, Players and Mosaic literary magazine. He has also written for Vibe and Stress. Hellified is his first novel.

Hellified was a trip through first semester at Georgetown U. The events and characters are well defined to give the reader an "almost there" type of feel. Another unique point is that the reader can get caught up in the lives of more than just the main character of the story. There is humor suspense and plenty of drama. It also reads fluently, credit to the skillful technique of the author. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it highly to those who enjoy to read the black youth experience( that's not all gangs, drugs pimps and ho's) Check it out!

Joy ride from NY to DC!,

Yes, Black kids attend Georgetown University who are not on the basketball team. Hellified is a comedic yet socio-political look through the eyes of a group of young guys and gals coming of age in the conservative land of Washington, D.C. circa 1988. It just does n't get more real than this. Life lessons are often bitter. Not repeating mistakes is an even greater challenge. Thumbs up to Tracy Grant for reminding us that the pot of gold we are always looking for at the end of the rainbow sometimes comes in different forms. An important read for people of all ages, races and genders.

I absolutely enjoyed the book!I will recommend the book to all my friends. The book had me reminiscing on my days in college. Pls. inform me, if the author will be doing any book signing.
