About the Artist

Vocalist Lisa Hindmarsh's reputation continues to grow in the musical world. She is regarded by her peers and by her listeners as a musician of consummate technical skill and a performer of great versatility and depth. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice (magna cum laude) from West Virginia University and a Master of Music in Voice (summa cum laude) from Marshall University, supporting herself throughout by singing at weddings, in churches and with various bands. She established herself as a soloist with prominent choral groups in Pittsburh where she grew up and where she became a member of the popular cappella quinted, InVoice. Now a resident and performer in the New York City area, Lisa has released several CDs before "Hello Again".

"Hello Again" is the first fruit of the collaboration among jazz vocalist Lisa Hindmarsh, pianist and arranger Mike Frank, and composer/lyricist Dana Paul Robinson. Listeners will be please to know that a follow-up CD is already in the works. With the exception of the first track, a light-hearted jazz waltz entitled "For You" which Robinson wrote many years ago, all of the songs on "Hello Again" are originals which are are performed for the first time. Their breadth in style is wide. Listeners will be delighted by the lightness of "For You", moved by the poignancy of "Maybe It's Time We Say Hello Again",impressed by the range of "He Cast A Spell On Me", and amused by the upbeat humor of "But Not With You". All in all, this CD brings to discerning listeners sophisticated lyrics matched with memorable melodies and flawless interpretation - both in performance and recording. The final track, "Let Me Hear Spring Again" epitomizes the superb abilities of these musicians and recoding technicians to create and present a musical masterpiece.

I've been one of Lisa Hindmarsh's biggest fans since the release of her first recording in 2000. Though she has always been a stellar musician and interpreter, she far surpasses any previous effort on this gorgeous new recording. She takes thirteen brand new, never recorded songs by a wonderful new (?) composer, Dana Robinson, and proceeds to hit them out of the park, forever imprinting her breathtaking voice and incomparable style upon each one. Lisa's voice is truly in full flower here, and covers all ground from the barest whisper to full-voiced longing. Listen to "Let Me Hear Spring Again", and if it doesn't give you chills, you must be dead! The songs themselves are all gems (where did she find this composer???), harmonically and melodically complex with sophisticated and interesting lyrics. Lisa handles every aspect, including the sometimes difficult melodies and wide vocal ranges, with her usual ease and consummate taste. She has always been one of the most natural and emotional communicators around, but there is no question she is at the height of her powers here and she compares favorably with ANY of the best-known singers working today. Highly recommended!
