I had purchased theBarbie Chat-with-Me Jelly Talkies Set of 2 - Pink for my girls for Christmas. The things had NO range and were clumsy to use and to top it all off they took expensive watch batteries. After finding these Barbie's going back.

These have a great range good clarity and although small in size are easy to use for my 4 & 6 year olds. And for added fun my husbands radios that we take on camping trips can be set to the same channels now its a 4 way conversation.

I recommend these to any parent looking for a walkie talkie type toy. Have fun with them, I know we will!

My daughter received her walkie talkies for Christmas. She takes one outside with her when playing in the neighbor hood. It is a great way for me to check up with her. It has great reception! My daughter and I are enjoying this very much.

We love these walkie talkies. We had fisher price walkie talkies first and they were awful. Nothing but static & truckers, plus we talked over each other.

The hello kitty walkie talkies are crystal clear, have many channels, an easy to use volume control, and an audible tone when the talk button is released (so the other person knows you are finished).

They also have a musical call button to alert the other person you are wanting to talk.

These work all over our 2600 sq ft house, into the garage and the basement with no trouble at all. My 4 year old daughter loves them and we do too!

Most of the kids' walkie talkies my kids have had don't work, or it's too much static, or it breaks after a few uses. We have had this for 4 months now, and even with my 3 year old stepping on it, throwing it into her toybox, etc., it still works like a charm. The sound is clear and it's easy to use for even my youngest. We are able to hear each other from the 3rd floor to the basement. A surprising great product!

It's cute, it works and it's pretty sturdy. Probably wouldn't do for a macho little boy. Gave it to my granddaughter for her 6th b'day, but her 3 year old brother likes it just fine. It's far more reasonably priced than many others.

Excellent product for the price. Easy for my daughter to use, good range and sound quality. Kids love them.

Bought this from Photoland NY via Amazon. Received it expeditiously before Christmas, but out of the box one of the units did not work. I e-mailed Photoland on December 27, received a reply by the next day and received a replacement set with a return pre-paid address label to return the defective set on December 31. I tested it out with my wife when I got home from work and it works like a charm. I know my daughter will have a blast with this as she was thrilled when she opened the initial set before finding out it did not work. I disagree with the ONE-STAR rating above as I doubt that they ordered it through Amazon/Photoland NY.

I ordered these for my daughters 5th birthday. Right out of the box after unwrapping them one of the walkie talkies didn't work. I took me 2 weeks to get them sent back. It was the only thing my daughter really wanted for her birthday and it was a big diappointment.

One of the walkie talkies quit working properly after less than a month of use. Now they're a toss. They were fun to play with while they worked. Were easy to use and had good range. Pay a little more for something that will last longer.

Anyone with kids knows that only time will tell the value of a toy, and very few survive even the first few hours of debut. A review we write the day after our kids start using our toy may be different than one we write a year later. I am writing this three days after my 7-year-old daughter with a 9-yr-old brother and 11-yr-old sister has opened and started using these walkie talkies, which is not too far into the game. However, I compare her usage of this toy compared to a Zhu-Zhu mouse she got and a baseball mitt/glove/net which my son received on the same day. The mouse and baseball stuff were used a single time then put aside, but she is still going strong on the walkie talkies. I rated them 5's on all 3 qualities listed here (sound, ease of use, ???) but felt the need to add another important feature, which is range, and rate it only a 4. The ad says it works "up to 2 miles," which we know of course is under IDEAL conditions which will never exist for anyone in the real world; in fact, we found the toy works up to about a quarter-mile (several blocks) in a residential neighborhood. Had it featured a longer range, we could have used it to keep in touch with the kids at the swimming pool about a mile down the road, which would have compensated for the fact that none of our kids yet has a cell phone. I have yet to test it during a shopping trip at Giant which a bit closer.
