Hello Kitty Personal CD Player

Hmm...why is this thing classified as a toy? I bought it at Target in the CD/audio section with all the other CD players. Adults like me will love this CD player just as much as kids will (and maybe more!).

Well, the reason I picked this particular CD player is because I love Hello Kitty and I thought the design of this product was very cute. The quality of the CD player is also very good. I've been able to play regular CDs and burned CDs without a problem, and the skip protection feature on this thing actually WORKS, unlike many other models.

The CD player is easy to operate. It has your typical play/stop/pause/rewind/fast-forward buttons as well as a repeat track or entire disc feature and a special jogging mode for when you exercise. The headphones that come with the player are pretty decent, too, which is shocking.

Overall, this is a great CD player that Hello Kitty fans of all ages will enjoy. It's easy to use, the sound quality is fantastic, and it's Hello Kitty, for god's sake! What more could you ask for?

this is a great portable cd player- i'm 29 & i love it- hello kitty's face is so bright & cheerful, the sound rocks & i've dropped it & it keeps on playing!

it has an anti-skip mechanism that works a lot better than the "grown-up" brand name discman's i've had & did i mention how cute it is????

i gave it a 5 star educational value, because if you're buying this for a child you could fill it with great books on tape and/or wonderful music.

i highly recommend this to hello kitty lovers of all ages!

It's so nice to see something girly that isn't Barbie. Four stars for educational value for the same reason the other reviewer gave-- you could have your child listening to educational CD's while maintaining your sanity instead of going crazy listening to Barney and things. It's also a nice shade of pink, as opposed to the pepto-pink we usually see in girls' toys.

Also great for those of us who are Hello Kitty fanatics! The sound quality is excellent, and the ASP actually works, unlike a lot of the "non-toy" portable CD players.

i am a hello kitty fan and when i this i begged my mom to take me 2 get it. the cd player is very cool and the headphones are so cute but they are not very durable.the anti-skip thing works very well beacause i droped this on the floor nothing happend! most of my freinds think it's ''funny'' that i LOVE hello kitty but i don't care. anyway you should really buy this 4 your daughter or 4 youself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The headphones for this CD player are so cute. Each earphone has a little picture of Hello Kitty with a little pink flower on the side, but there is a Proposition 65 warning on the cord which says

"THE COATED ELECTRICAL WIRE OF THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS A SUBSTANCE KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO BE A CARCINOGEN OR REPRODUCTIVE TOXICANT. WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING."

So if you or the person you're buying it for plan to eat snacks while using these headphones, this is NOT going to be safe. If I had known about this warning before, I would not have bought this product. I did a lead test on the wire and it has an extremely high level of lead, so I don't use the headphones at all. I keep the CD player on my daughter's dresser and use portable speakers instead. I would give the CD player alone 5 stars because all of the features work well, the sound is good and it's really cute, but the headphones get 0 for being unsafe and, therefore, completely useless.

My daughter got this for Christmas from her Grandma (who worked long and hard to get this for her)and she was so happy and excited when she opened this Christmas Eve. She was only able to enjoy it for 1 month when it decided to only play certain CD's. It will soon be on it's way back to Amazon for an exchange. Hopefully, the new one will work and all will be well. It is very, very cute and my 7 year old just loves it. We are keeping our fingers crossed that there won't be any problems with the next one. We will keep you posted.

WE BOUGHT THIS FOR OUR DAUGHTER'S 9TH BIRTHDAY. THIS IS HER FIRST CD PLAYER. SHE WAS ABLE TO USE IT WITH NO HELP FROM US. THE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT! SHE WALKS UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS ALL DAY AND ALSO PLAYS OUTSIDE WITH IT AND IT HAS NOT SKIPPED ONCE. A MUST HAVE FOR A HELLO KITTY LOVER!!!

My 5 year old loves it, she's been using it for a couple of weeks and so far, no problems. Its really cute and easy to use.

I haven't used this yet, I am merely posting to alert people that the set I bought 11/07 does not have the CARCINOGEN OR REPRODUCTIVE TOXICANT label on the headphones. I am guessing they revamped them. I am giving it 5 stars because I can't say otherwise. Sorry
