5.0 out of 5 stars Santa's Missing Hat is the coolest!, February 15, 1999
By A Customer

If you want a cute movie for the whole family, this is a great choice! Kitty and her sister Mimi star in this unforgettable holiday tale. Story Line- Hello Kitty and her sister believe in Santa Claus. They go to school and their friends tell them that he's not real. When they find him in the forest, they prove that everyone was wrong and Santa is real. A 5-star movie for children I say!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't want my child to watch this video, November 3, 2000
By A Customer

I bought this for my daughter to watch during the Christmas season this year. I was so disappointed after watching it with her. Kitty and Mimi are told by their parents that Santa is not real. I thought this was going to be a great video like the classic Frosty and Rudolph ones, but it is not. Also, the voices in the movie are very shrill and seem to be screaming a lot of the time. It is not calming at all. I would not recommend buying this video.

3.0 out of 5 stars mom, November 17, 2002

Not a video for all ages (in my opinion). I saw this video a few years ago and bought a copy for a gift to someone and also a copy for me. I gave the gift and never thought much about it until a few years later when I had my own baby, and opened it up to watch it. To my surprise, it started talking about how Santa is not real. I felt so bad that I had given this gift to the girl I did at her age (5). Her parents must have hated me! It really should say on the back of the package what the theme of the story is to give parents a heads up. My daughter at age 2 loves the video because she is too young to understand, and just enjoys the scenes because she likes Hello Kitty. But I will be packing it away now for a few years.

***I think this is best to give to a child who is already starting to doubt Santa. It just might make them think - "hey, maybe Santa is real..." But I would not recommend this to young kids who have no doubts in Santa at all. It will only confuse them and make them start to doubt at a younger age. And that's no fun.***

It also shows a scene where the cats go onto thin ice to get Santa's hat, and it starts to crack. For young kids, we try and teach them not to go on any frozen ponds or lakes without an adult. So again - maybe fine for an older kid who knows it's just a story. But for young kids, who needs that? But now I am just getting nick-picky. All in all I tend to love Hello Kitty. And this video has great scenes and is cute, despite the above. For an older child it'd be great.
