1.0 out of 5 stars Freezes-up, glitches, and slow loading times. UGH. January 12, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game disc is apparently full of glitches, errors, and incomplete programming. If you buy, prepare to be disappointed and frustrated.

First off, this game was played on an adult-owned, clean Wii system by two adults who love Sanrio/Hello Kitty. We were excited to have an "Animal Crossing" experience with our favorite Sanrio characters! As we progressed through the first four seasons (WHICH -DO- GO BY FAST... it's a 'training year' to get you accustomed to the game), we were annoyed by the SLOW loading times after each mini-game. The mini-games are an essential part of gameplay, so it becomes extremely tiresome when you have to wait TWENTY SECONDS to return from each mini-game back to town mode. Twenty seconds?? Really? The games on my Apple IIe from the '80s loaded faster than that. But we decided to grin and bear it, soldiering-on with the game..... and then the freezing started happening. And the glitches.

Our first copy of the game kept freezing-up (5 times during our first night of play), and the Wii had to be turned off or even unplugged each time to restart. After one such reset, instead of the main character being a human as it's supposed to be, it was penguin Badtz Maru with a girl wig on his head. And it was an UNCHANGABLE permanent glitch. We had to delete the character and restart the game from the very beginning, losing hours of play time.

After the freezing/restarting became unbearable, we exchanged the game disc for a new one. {Thank you, Amazon, for the fast and easy exchange process.} Sadly, the new game disc randomly freezes and glitches in the same ways.

The further you go in the game, the crazier the things that happen.

A Kid's Review
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I just turned 12 yesterday and received Hello Kitty Seasons as one of my presents. (I asked for it) Right as I started playing I kept saying "Awww" and "OMG, the Sugarbunnies are so cute!!" ALL the characters in this game are cute. There were almost all the Sanrio characters, some of them I never even saw before, some I never knew existed. I'm a true Hello Kitty fan, so I hoped for a good gameplay experience too.

As I said, I'm now 12 years old. I already knew this game would be fairly easy, so as I got into the game I got a bit bored. The minigames are easy, and really only take the flick of your Wii remote. A pair of winter boots cost 90 "Hello Kitty Coins" which will take me probably another three years in the game to earn. I also feel a bit odd playing a human in the game. I know there are the Twin Stars, but every other character is really a animal. I wish in the game you could play as Cinnamonroll or Mimmy, or my favorite Sanrio character, Badtz Maru. (Who I also share my birthday with) Also, you can't enter any of the buildings, which sucks. I really wanted to see the inside of Hello Kitty's house.

I had no technical difficulties, so I did not experience any freezes or such as other reviews have said. (So far, I have only played this game for about a day, but some reviewers said their game froze within minutes)

All the characters look very good on the screen, and the gameplay can be fun at times. But it is quite easy, as it is made for younger children. I hope for another Hello Kitty Wii title soon, one with more adventure and challenges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hello Kitty Seasons Rocks March 11, 2011

Hours of endless fun. Unfortunately "the bus" experience that you work hard toward getting is pretty disappointing. It's jsut a still graphic that crosses the screen to transition to another location.

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I love everything Hello Kitty, and I thought this game would be fun for me to play with my two young daughters. The graphics and scenery are adorable and the missions seemed pretty straight forward. My 4-year old was able to navigate through the game because there is a little compass telling you where to go. The mini-games are cute, though they do get tedious and a little boring. As we played on, after a few hours, the disc started freezing, causing us to have to re-start---erasing all our work! As the other reviewer mentioned, sometimes the screen goes blank, and sometimes the character says something another character should be saying. I thought the disc was scratched, but when I went to inspect it,it was in pristine condition. None of my other Wii games freeze up, so I know it's not my console.

The load time between season changes and mini-games are very long, which is annoying. But the freezing up and disc errors make this game impossible to play.

I returned my game, thanks to Amazon's wonderful policy. I do hope Sanrio Digital fixes all these glitches and comes out with a worthy game in the near future.

3.0 out of 5 stars We Love Hello Kitty - but this game is not so great! December 31, 2010

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I purchased this game for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. She played with it on Christmas Day for about 10 minutes and hasn't played it since. She says its boring & I must agree. I thought she would enjoy it because its sort of like Animal Crossing, which she likes. There is a lot of reading, & running around to do the things that Kitty or the Mayor have asked you to do, similar to Animal Crossing. We don't like that you play for a few minutes & then you are in another season. You play a few minutes more - you're in another season. We thought the seasons would change much slower. My biggest complaint is that I thought you would have your own home that you could decorate and expand like you do on Animal Crossing. But you don't get your own home. On this game it is the town that you are suppose to expand & grow. That's fine I guess, I just wish that your character could have a home too. On the options screen there is a button that says "my house". But it is a place where your items are kept. It's not a house that you can actually roam & expand & decorate. And the mini games are very simple & yeah, a bit boring. I expected better mini games with the Wii technology. I kinda hope the makers retry this game, because it could have been so much better.

As most of the other reviews state, this game is plagued with freezing issues. Pretty much the minute we finished the intro 4-seasons portion of the game we began to have problems. Read more
