Those uninitiated into the cult of Kitty may find themselves shuffling off to the nearest mall in search of their first Hello Kitty item after viewing. Started more than 35 years ago in Japan as a simple sketch on a vinyl coin purse, the character's charm has created a billion-dollar industry. Hello Kitty and her friends appear on items as varied as stationery, jewelry, surfboards, Macy's parade balloons, and jet airliners. About the Author

Marie Moss is author of Hello Kitty, Hello Everything: 25 Years of Fun! and Hello Kitty’s Little Book of Big Ideas. She is the owner of M&B Vintage, a vintage accessories collection. Moss is also contributing editor and producer for Country Living magazine and is the former Fashion Director for Seventeen magazine. She has appeared as a style expert on national television shows, including Oprah and The View. She lives in Westchester County, New York.

Hello Kitty Sweet, Happy, Fun Book! is all about the life and times of Hello Kitty! It's so much fun to see how she's evolved over the years starting in 1975 with a coin purse, stationery and small gifts. Now there are retail stores, theme parks and even a Hello Kitty airplane! The book includes the chronology of Hello Kitty starting with her first concept drawings and tells all about her life. Did you know she has a boyfriend named Daniel and three adorable pets?

There are all kinds of collectibles inside to reminisce about from notebooks to bikes to toasters! Hello Kitty sure has stayed up on technology over the years, with her own DVD player and other tech savvy offerings, like flash drives and digital cameras. Hello Kitty Sweet, Happy, Fun Book! spotlights all different types of Hello Kitty products, including jewelry and clothing, like the white ear muffs with ears and a red bow, just like Hello Kitty! Plus, you can keep up your beauty regimen entirely with Hello Kitty products, from bandaids to the cutest contact lens case. I loved seeing the photos of the Hau Sheng hospital's maternity ward, which has been totally revamped to a Hello Kitty theme! Newborns and Hello Kitty together, what could be more adorable! And I sure wish that they had a Hello Kitty Sweets cafe where I live -- all of the decor and food are completely Hello Kitty!

The little trinkets tucked into secret places throughout the book are an extra special addition. I was excited to see a ticket to Sanrio Puroland (albeit voided), plus stickers, iron on decal and more! Hello Kitty Sweet, Happy, Fun Book! lives up to it's name as an all in one Hello Kitty fest, jam packed with all things Hello Kitty -- perfect for any HK fan!

So I purchased not 1 but 2 of these books! 1 for myself and another for a birthday gift to a friend who also adores Hello Kitty! The item was shipped in a timely manner and what a great bargain!! The book is seriously amazing, I know a few people that were mentioned in the book! It's interactive there are items in the book can be used like stickers, iron-ons and other Hello Kitty items.
