Although Country Gazette had its origins in the early 70s, this Flying Fish disc is limited to 1976-1987 with the core group featuring mandolin player Roland White (of the Kentucky Colonels), banjoist Alan Munde and guitarist (on most tracks) Joe Carr.

Although they include nods to their influences like Bill Monroe ("Molly and Tenbrooks"), for example, the band is more progressive than traditional. How else can you explain a love song to your tractor ("Sweet Allis Chalmers") or extracting revenge on the football jock ("The Great Joe Bob")?

Superior musicianship, excellent song selection, a great addition to any bluegrass collection!
