Colors, Colors, Colors!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hello Red Fox (Hardcover)
Hello, Red Fox provides an opportunity for young listeners and readers to actively engage in exploring and questioning their "great big world" of color. Eric Carle uses storytelling in a unique way and the early learner has visually rewarding fun with primary and complimentary colors in the process. Mama Frog begins the story with a question to Little Frog. Little Frog's response is the his list of guests for his birthday party. The young listeners and readers of this story discover they must use their listening skills and follow directions carefully to enjoy this story to its fullest! Their active participation allows them to view the visual color transformation of Little Frog's guests:Red Fox, Purple Butterfly, Orange Cat, Green Snake, Yellow Bird, Blue Fish, and White Dog with Black Spots.Teacher Note: The young learner's exploration of colors in his/her world will take on new meaning. Some art center activities could include the following: Allow students to experiment with mixing colors. Include activities with making their own artist palette. Make a color wheel, match colors, visually discriminate likenesses/differences in colors and color words.

The Green Fox Is Red,
By "tiapup4144" (Sauk Rapids, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hello, Red Fox (Paperback)
Hello, Red Fox by Eric Carle I felt was a very well written book. When animals from all over the forest get together for a party, held by the frogs mom for his birthday, frogs mom couldn't understand why all his friends had colors for names but were different colors. When red fox showed up frogs mom said no this fox is green. This is why the book is cool. On the cover the fox was green, but when you open the book it gives you directions. If you look at the black dot in the middle of the page for about 10-15 seconds without breaking concentration and then you look to the next page which is white and let your eyes focus you will see a red fox if you were looking at the green fox with the dot in the middle. This book is great for children because it keeps their attention and it can involve participation of the audience for those who get restless. Overall I give this book a 4 star rating because the interaction part may be hard for some but once you get it down, this book rocks.

Eric Carles the best!,
By
This review is from: Hello Red Fox (Hardcover)
This is one of my favorite authors and he never lets me down. This book has an interesting story and is so creative. When we look at the pictures we have lots of fun waiting to see the animals change color but I am also getting my kids to count anywhere from 10 to 20 each time we turn the page which is great for preschoolers. To make it easier to see, we found that once we count to our designated number, we blink quickly and then the new color appears. Buy this for your kids and you won't regret it!

This book is excellent for young readers. It not only has an interesting story plot for children, but it alows them to participate in the story. The techniques Eric Carle used were wonderful and creative. It allows children to learn about colors and little tricks of the eye! Little frog is having a birthday party and while telling his mom who he is inviting we all learn something quite interesting. This is definately a great choice to read, it is interesting for children, and even adults!

We like Hello, Red Fox because it is magic.,

This review is from: Hello Red Fox (Hardcover)
Hello, Red Fox is great for beginning readers. It is a good book for the whole family. Hello, Red Fox is exciting because it is the first book we have ever seen with magic (optical illusion). The mother frog sees the green fox and then she stares at it and it turns red. Every animal has a dot and when you stare at it for ten seconds, then look at the blank page , the animal changes color. Thank you, Eric Carle, you are our favorite "picture writer" and Hello, Red Fox is our favorite book.

Hello, Red Fox,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hello Red Fox (Hardcover)
Hello, Red Fox was about a little frog that was having a birthday party. So of course he told his mom all his friends that he wanted to invite. Some of hid friends were Red Fox, Purple Butterfly, Orange cat, and Green Snake, but when they arrived at the party their was a problem Red Fox was green, Purple Butterfly was yellow, Orange Cat was blue, and green snake was red! What was wrong? I liked this book because it was fun to read and had bright pictures. It also teaches children readers about their colors and to not always judge someone by how they look. I recommend this book for kids ages 2-5.

Hello Red Fox,
By Rachel Holewa (Puerto Rico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hello, Red Fox (Paperback)
The author of Hello Red Fox did a very good job keeping the audiences attention, especially when keeping young childrens attention is hard. He used techniques like involving the reader in the story by staring at a picture with a dot then staring at a blank page and seeing that same object but in a different color. Very cool! Kids love that kind of stuff, so i strongley encourage you to get out and read it with your kids!

Great book for kids that is art related,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hello Red Fox (Hardcover)
This book is great for teaching kids about colors in art. They learn about contrasting colors and color opposites. It would be great for an elementary art classroom or any one who wants to teach young kids about colors. I have read the book many times to groups of kids ranging from 2+ to 7. I've found that age 5+ works the best, since it does require that the kids follow some directions for seeing the contrasting colors. However, this book does not focus on reading.

My daughter, Amanda Christine, 7, REALLY, REALLY wanted this book after her teacher read it to her. She was so excited the day it came. I found it hard to focus but my 10 year old daughter Betty saw the magic too.

A fun and engaging book,
This review is from: Hello, Red Fox (Paperback)
We initially checked this book out from our local library. My 6 year old son was so thrilled and mesmerized by it that I had to make it a purchase. He absolutely loves the tricks on the eyes that the book teaches and is so enthused to share this book with others. Another hit by Erick Carle!
