a mother's story,
By juggalette37 "donna" (alabama) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
My son, Christopher Colt Kelley, was murdered on December 21, 2001. He was 15 years old and he was a real Juggalo. He used to try and get me to play ICP cd's all the time whenever we were riding in the car together and I wouldn't listen to them. When he was murdered I took the time to sit and listen to what he was in to. I haven't stopped listening to ICP yet. I met Violent J once before Shangri-La came out and I told him all about my son. He held my hand and told me in these words that I will never forget, "You should not be sad that he is gone, you should always look at it like this, whenever it rains, that's him Raining Diamonds down on you." Then Shangri-La dropped and I heard It Rains Diamonds...and I could not stop crying. Now I am a 37 year old Juggalette and I'll be that way 'til I'm dead in the ground. My son was buried with an ICP shirt on and a Hatchetman round his neck. And I plan on going the same way. Everyone has their own thoughts about ICP and the Dark Carnival...but if you're not a true Juggalo....you'll never get it. MCL and R.I.P. Colt....we miss you.

Welcome To Hell,
By
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
Finally, the last Joker's Card, the last face of the Dark Carnival has fallen. Well, nothing really happenned in real life, the end of time didn't consume us in real life, but it did consume Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J from the Insane Clown Posse. They have fallen to hell, and there's no turning back from it. From beggining to end, this CD is about wickedness, pain, violence and everything else you should expect from a CD who describes Hell, its creatures, its places and people who have the profile to be taken, by The Wraith, to Hell's Pit, the lower spot in Hell. Just like hell itself, this CD is hot!
Hell's Pit was released in two versions. Version 1 includes a mini-movie DVD called Bowling Balls - a song from the album, and this one - Version 2 - includes a show and a video... If you're not a Juggalo and you want to buy only one version to see what's up, buy this one... This way you'll be able to watch some moments of ICP's carreer in the Undergroung Baby video and listen to more ICP tracks in the show, Bootlegged In Denver. But, if you're a Juggalo like me, you can't miss any of the versions, buy them both! If you have ignored ICP even since you've known them, stop being dumb and buy this CD right now, don't care about what other people think about ICP or the Juggalo nation... You have to listen to it yourself.

Some of You just dont get it,

Alright I'm sick of hearing people and self proclaimed "juggalos" whining and complaining about this album B/C it doesn't sound right or because there aren't any guests or skits or it isn't funny or blah blah blah blah blah! You don't understand. Hells Pit is a concept album. It's about HELL. Hell is not funny, it's not pleasant and it's not something that ICP wanted to try and romanticize. This album represents suffering and pain. The reason they don't have guests is because they don't want any of their homies or any of the juggalos in Hell suffering. This album wasn't meant for juggalos. It was meant for the rest of the world. And all you who complain cause you think ICP didn't do what you expected with this album, you all need to shut your damn mouths. ICP didn't do this record for you, they did it for the carnival. And ICP don't owe anybody [...]. To all my true ninjas out there that feel what I'm saying, check this album out. It's different and not what you would expect. If you like ICP you won't like this album. If you love the carnival then you will feel the true intensity of Hell in every word that J and Shaggy say. Just remember that it's about Hell, so don't expect anything else. PS to the eminem fan that wants to come get in a pissing match with the juggalos, don't play around cause juggalos will split your face open and piss in your bloodstream. MCL to my real ninjas.

This Album Rocks, And So Do The Extras!!!!,
By GameraRocks "captpicardfan" (Gillsville, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
This album is awesome, but the second CD with the extras on it are the real stars of this package. I bought the second version of Hell's Pit and it was well worth it! It's a full ICP concert in Denver, and a 13 minute video that looks back on their career. This is awesome, it's worth buying, especially if you don't have any ICP concerts on DVD. They do all our favorites songs, 24 songs in all! Here's the songs that they do on the concert in order:
Dead Body Man Hokus Pokus Assassins Welcome To The Show Chicken Huntin Piggy Pie Play With Me Murder Rap Tilt A Whirl The Juggla Birthday Bi*ches Lil Somethin Somethin Blaaam!!! Homies 2 Smoke With Homies F*ck The World The Stalker My Axe Boogie Woogie Wu Get Ya Wicked On Lets Go All The Way 3 Rings Down With The Clown Thy Unveiling Way worth picking up Juggalos!

Revenge is sweet,
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
Eminem fan relax pal, let me give you a few facts
1.U claim ICP are fagets 2.I claim Feminem is, I mean look at his videos, he always dresses like a woman, sings with Elton John, that guy has had more ass than my Toilet seat, he brought blow-up dolls on stage dressed as ICP and tried to have sex with them, his fans including you are called the Dirty Heads, I believe that is a gay term. 3.U claim Encore is a good album 4.I claim it sucks, Just Lose It sucked, Mosh Sucked and I heard a song on there called Ass Like That and that really sucked, it has also been getting a lot of bad reviews, also I saw a song on there called Yellow Brick Road, I want to really hear that, because I have a feeling that is gonna be a rip-off of Violent J's song Yellow Brick Alleyway off his solo album, because Feminem is well known for taking ideas off underground acts. Let me give you some more facts 5.ICP write their own lyrics 6.Fem has co-writers 7.ICP started their own record label in a basement and self-promoting themselves and look at them now, their millionaires as well making the Psychopathic Records very rich. 8.Feminem couldn't do it on his own, so bad it got to the point of committing suicide so he has to get Dr.Gay to make his beats and make him sound good and rich and then gets a record label given to him. 9.Why is every Fem song about himself Typical Issues that go into a Fem Song My mother didn't like me; I am the only person in the world that needs to look out for my daughter, im sick of being famous, my father left me, I hate my druggie ex wife and I am the only white rapper that matters and some more crap he writes about. Sorry Fem Fan for giving you a lengthy review, I have just proven Fem is more crapper than u think ICP are, if you need more facts just let me know with a review back, leave Pod1971 alone as well, at least he knows good music, now I'll let you get back to your Feminem concerts with his 10 year old girl fans crying for him. Now people who wanted a review, all I can say is buy it like any other ICP album out. P.S Feminem was once an ICP fan himself.

walk into the darkness that is HELL'S PIT,
By Adam Cox (Blackpool, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
the only way I can describe this album is track by track,
Intro- a dark and strange track with a strange message. 8/10 Walk Into The Darkness- A track about literally going to hell and all the weird stuff that happens there. 9/10 Suicide Hotline- One of my personal favourites with ICP ringing a hotline and rapping down the phone to the hotline guy tellin them not to kill themselves and then gets put on hold. 10/10 C.P.K- an odd but funny tack if you like guys rappin about killin a preacher, reverend and a nun and then finally themselves. 7/10 Truly Alone- A slower and less murder filled track as ICP reflect on what's it's like to be alone for a long time and eventually going insane from being alone. 8/10 Everday I Die- A dark and gruesome track about Violent J and Shaggy going to visit each other but are both murdered by a giant behemoth. 7/10 Night Of The 44- a violent track about J going around killin people who annoy him after he thought the first kill was just a dream but realises it isn't and goes out to finish the whatt he started. 8/10 The Witch- a strange track about Shaggy told what to do by a witch who teaches him how to kill people.7/10 Bowling Balls- a funny and violent track with J and Shaggy rappin about keepin people's head's who they've killed and what they do with them, the title is also the same of the film on version 2. 9/10 24- a track about killin everyone from kids to prostitutes. 8/10 Burning Up- basically about the people spending an eternity in Hell's Pit from a Paedofile to a load of judges. 7/10 Sedatives- a track about J and Shaggy in a mental hospital and being given sedatives and killin' nurses. 7/10 In My Room- another of my personal favourites which basically a sick love song with J being with a ghost and then leaves because of the neighbours findin out so J goes to get revenge on the neighbours to hope his dead lover will come back. 10/10 Basehead Attack- a dark track about Shaggy workin the graveyard shift and being attacked by a load of zombies known as the baseheads. 8/10 Angel's Falling- an odd track about J shootin up at the sky trying to shoot down the Heavens because his girlfriend is up there as an angel and J's tryin to get her back. 7/10 Manic Depressive- a dark track about ICP not wanting to do anything but kill themselves and have no one care about them anymore. 8/10 Real Underground Baby- a beats and samples mix song with a couple samples from every Jokers Card. 8/10 Overall an excellent album with a bonus disc featuring a full live concert and the video for Real Underground Baby.

The last of the Jokers cards,
By Killa Q "darklotuschylde" (Republic, Mo USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
Hell's Pit the final joker card. Violent J said it him self when he said that this album was not for Juggalos. I've been a loyal follower of ICP since '96. This album is raw and wicked. The album took on a new sound and went back to the horror rap roots. I'll admit that the songs are kinda stale but they are not suppose to fresh. Hell isn't fresh it's stale. The Videos on the dvd's are great. This album isn't meant to be liked, but I enjoy the clowns and all they do. This album is nothing like they've done before Juggalos looking for silly antics and guest spots will be disappointed, cause there isn't any. This album peeled my wig back so far I have to style the backs of my legs. What's next? Who knows. Just ride the stimutax and relax.

ICP's "Hell's Pit"..... one HELL of an album!!!,
By POD1971 (Maine, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hell's Pit - Version 2 W/ DVD (Audio CD)
I'll be honest; this is the first ICP album I ever bought. Why? Well, I'm a heavy metal/rock fan and I never thought a "rap" band would be worth my time. Other than the "rap war" they had with Eminem, I never listened to ICP before. The real reason I bought this disk was to piss off an Eminem fan I work with because all he keeps saying is "ICP sucks this," and "ICP sucks that." Not only did I buy "Hell's Pit," I also bought a ticket to their up coming show at The State Theater in Portland, Maine on October 5th, 2004. Needless to say, the Eminem fan I work with, well, his jaw dropped and he said, "I guess I should have kept my mouth shut." :) I'm 33 years old...grew up with Alice Cooper, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and so on. As it stands now, my three favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and Wasp. It's safe to say that after only a week, "Hell's Pit" is better than anything Wasp ever put out and it's right up there with anything Alice Cooper ever put out. From start to finish, "Hell's Pit" is the most solid album I've heard since Iron Maiden's "Dance of Death" album, which came out last year, and it's also the best story about hell I've ever heard; it's dark, nasty, and feels very real. By the time it's over, I know for a fact that hell is one place I NEVER want to end up spending time in. The use of "The Witch" character as the devil is the work of a master story teller and, even though I don't have all the Joker's Cards, it's clear that Violent J and Shaggy 2-Dope knew what they were doing right from the very start of The Dark Carnival. I'm sure Alice Cooper will have a smile on his face when he listens to "Hell's Pit" as well. :) My three favorite songs from this album? Damn, that's a hard one. "Truly Alone," "Bowling Balls" and "In My Room" are my picks. I love "Basehead Attact" and "Angels Falling" as well, but this great album is made to be listend to as a whole, from start to finish, in the dark with the lights out and head-phones strapped to your melon...it really is that good. The DVD that comes with this disk is cool too. The live show looks awesome and I'm glad I watched it before I go next month. They're wild live and I can't wait to be part of it. Call me a freak, but I also bought the "Bowling Balls" DVD version as well, which isn't the best thing in the world, but it'll make you laugh. The 3D sucks, but the 2D is worth having on the shelf. If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with the live show DVD version, "The Wicked Wonka Tour"...very cool to watch. I also bought "Shangri-La" and "The Amazing Jeckle Brothers" which I've listened to a few times and liked alot, but those two disks I'll review at another time. For now, do yourself a HUGE favor and go buy "Hell's Pit." You WON'T be sorry you did! Peace to you all, and God bless.
