This review is from: Help! I'm Barking and I Can't Be Quiet: A pet parenting guide (Paperback)
For very inexperienced dog people, this book may be helpful in understanding the simplest to diagnose and to correct common barking problems. However, there are serious omissions and limitations because the book is absolutely silent on some of the not unusual and more difficult to resolve causes. For example, stress barking in geriatric dogs with cognitive dysfunction, and pure excitement barking endemic in certain breeds are not mentioned. In my experience as a trainer, I have many clients who struggle with these barking issues. The authors are noted experts in their field and I ordered the book in hopes of benefiting from their expertise and experience. I guess their target readership was the most newbie dog owners.
