Review
- A treasure trove of ideas! Activities such as Peanut Butter Play-Doh, Wiggly Wormhouses, Frisbee Football and Nature Scavenger Hunt span a broad range of interest and ability levels. Great for rainy days, this resource should be kept next to the spare fuses and emergency candles! --
Owl Canadian Family, "Reading Room" May/June 1997Although there are dozens of books like this, the difference here is the activities are simple. You don't need a million supplies and the crafts don't take an engineering degree. Not to mention that these really sound like fun; leg wrestle instead of arm wrestle, or make your own face paint or fabric paint with stuff around the house. A good book for those long days of winter. --
The Citizen's Weekly, Ottawa, "Small Print", January 10, 1999Help! I'm Bored! is a very practical, hands on book. The ideas are presented clearly and could be used for kids at any ability level. A wonderful resource for kids with or without disabilities! --
Merrywood Easter Seal Camp, May 1999This is a fine resource for a home caregiver, youth leader, grandparent, or daycare worker. If only two afternoons of activities come out of the 300 suggestions, this book has more than paid for itself. Highly recommended. --

From the Inside Flap
Welcome to "Help! I'm Bored!" This book is a collection of successful children's activities which I've tested and tried as a youngster, as an elementary school teacher, and as a mother. I began working on this book simply because I wanted all of my favorite ideas, both new and traditional, collaborated into one book, ready to use for any occasion.
The intent of this book is to provide entertainment, while developing co-ordination, co-operation, and creativity at the same time. In addition, I've included a "learn to Read" section, found in "Fun for Little 'Uns" chapter, and numerous pages on fun ways to improve reading, writing, spelling, and math skills, found in "Partner Challenge Games" and "Rainy Day Fun".
Many of the ideas in this book are self-directed, requiring minimal adult assistance, and most of the activities utilize materials found in most homes/schools.
I hope you enjoy "Help! I'm Bored!", and I hope it serves you well on any6 occasion!
