Another great Lauren Child Charlie and Lola book. Great fun to read and discuss the pictures and story with children. Miss Fe (6) has read it to me from cover to cover thrilled as she has really improved her reading skills using these books.

Girl who called "HELP",

This review is from: Help! I Really Mean It! (Charlie and Lola) (Mass Market Paperback)
Similar to the stories about the boy who cried wolf, Lola discovers that she should not try to entertain herself by yelling for help. These lovable characters take on the real issue of young children crying for help when they want attention or entertainment. This story has a great moral behind it and is great for any small child.

I recently bought this for my grandsons and they love it.
The story is just right for length and provides a lesson. I enjoy the relationship between Charlie and his sister Lola. The author shows repeatedly his care, concern and patience for his sister. Such a nice change. I will buy more.

Lola and her friend find that if they yell HELP real loud, Charlie and Mark come running and they think it's so funny! Great little book for teaching children Help is not a word to be misused.
The great thing about Charlie and Lola books is that there always a little "life lesson" in the stories but the children are so busy having fun with the book, they don't realize they are learning. Charlie and Lola always give you something to discuss after the books is done. |
