4.0 out of 5 stars A still useful collection, June 28, 2000
This review is from: Helping Gay and Lesbian Youth: New Policies, New Programs, New Practice (Paperback)
This collection of papers provides some useful theoretical background to study of the experiences of lesbian, gay and bisexual young people. Particularly useful are Dennis Durby's summary of the range of `developmental models' of lesbian, gay and bisexual identities, Gerald Mallon on counselling strategies for gay and lesbian youth, and Darryl Jackson and Richard Sullivan on the developmental implications of homophobia for adolescents. This is a useful supplement to more person-centred works like "And then I became gay" (Ritch C Savin-Williams), Passages of Pride (Kurt Chandler), There Must be Fifty Ways to Tell Your Mother (Lynn Sutcliffe), and Queer Kids (Robert Owens).
