Not being an avid reader, I was surprised to find both, "The Cobra in the Barn" & "The Hemi in the Barn", impossible to put down. Over the course of a week, (Cobra - 3 days, Hemi - 2 days) I read both books, cover to cover, and only wanted more!!! The perfect shot in the arm for anyone still hopeful of finding a long stashed away gem of automotive history peeking out of a old barn door or lying in a field, far off of the beaten path. Great job Mr. Cotter, anxiously awaiting the next books in this series!!!!

"Cobra in the Barn" was so good that I worried this follow up might seem watered down, but if anything, the sequel is even better than the original. Tom Cotter deserves credit for creating not one but two of the finest automotive books ever written. Good work!

Interesting stories about interesting cars - their discovery and sometimes purchase (always helps to have lots of money and/or some good luck!) Great book to keep by the side of your bed and read just one story a night, though I have to admit it's hard to put down. If you're a vintage car nut of any kind, this is a "good read".

This is the most fun you'll ever have with a book. Now, go get "Cobra in a Barn" also.

A good read and there are interesting search methods which others have employed to make their barn finds a reality. Many of the stories point out how dedicated and diligent people have gotten in finding these more unique barn finds. This is a good compilation of the story behind the car, or more specifically a set of stories which can complete the car enthusiasts education.

Tom Cotter is a good writer, a good editor (some of these pieces were written by others or with others) and above all, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic car collector. Both this book and its' predecessor, "The Cobra In The Barn" are great bedside reading; the stories are just short enough that you can enjoy a few before you drop off. They are also great for those times that you come in from the garage needing a rest after struggling with ONE bolt for two hours. They help you remember why we love automobiles, why we work on them and try to bring them back to what they were when new, and why there are really only two kinds of people in the world: those who can't resist looking in old barns, behind doors, and under tarps- and those who couldn't care less. These books are for those of us who look, and dream.

Great stories, but hopefully in the next edition there will be more stories from non-millionaires that can't afford to drop a few hundred grand on these cool cars (and the restorations). Maybe there will be more submissions from the guy who got that classic Camaro for free from the old lady next door. I'm still searching for mine!
