Short, fast paced, interesting bio of cuba's hemingway
I was expecting this film to lessen my hemingway awe, but it greatly increased my understanding and love of the Great Man. The pictures of the Pilar cruising the Gulf Stream and the tiny islands around it set to Hemingway reading passages from Islands in the Stream is nothing but beautiful. There is a lot of great information you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere,...

Strictly made to cash in
This video was a 100% disappointment. Expecting to see something focused on the Cuba years, it is merely a very poorly done rehash of bits and pieces of Hemingway's life. I can't imagine who would benefit from this video. People just becoming acquainted with Hemingway? Hardly. It is too vague, too general, and relies on interviews with a group of nobodies as filler...

I was expecting this film to lessen my hemingway awe, but it greatly increased my understanding and love of the Great Man. The pictures of the Pilar cruising the Gulf Stream and the tiny islands around it set to Hemingway reading passages from Islands in the Stream is nothing but beautiful. There is a lot of great information you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere, and the whole film has an interesting and masterful perspective. I would not only recommend this to admirers of Hemingway, but to people interested in the Gulf Stream as well. Highly recommended by The Man. A must-see.

I can't imagine who would benefit from this video. People just becoming acquainted with Hemingway? Hardly. It is too vague, too general, and relies on interviews with a group of nobodies as filler. Hemingway fans? Not likely. There isn't anything in this video that hasn't been covered in greater detail elsewhere. It is a rambling, unfocused mess. Obviously made just to cash in on the renewed interest in Hemingway. Don't waste your money or time on this piece of crap.
