I have to say that I love this book! I'll admit that it did not come with enough beads or hemp, but you can buy those cheaply at any craft store!! This book has so many patterns to try, and gives the simplest directions! I would definately reccomend this book to people, because it is fun and easy. *I would reccomend it for kids 9 and up*

I came to this book as a complete beginner, and was pleasantly surprised. Detailed, yet easy to understand. Diagrams were excellent, clear and easy to follow. Well illustrated with lots of pictures that actually served to give you more ideas of things you could do that were variations on the projects for which instructions were given. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to do this. Guess what my friends and family will be getting for birthdays and christmas this year!

This hemp book is the best one out there. I made so many awesome bracelets, anklets, and necklaces for friends in their banquet notes at Camp Wyo. It includes amazingly simple directions, beads, and 150 feet of hemp string. It's so easy! My friend Caitlin brought it to camp and everyone is now buying the book. Another job well done, Klutz!

Overall this book was very good. The author did a very good job of explaining all the steps and processes of making a hemp bracelet. The bracelets were arranged in such an order that you could progress from beginer to expert with each bracelet in the book. I learned a lot as I read it.

The knots are easy to learn and usually described clearly except for every twist of the spiral on the bracelet (about four separate knots) then the braiding cords start to twist, too. You can essentially change direction every 4 knots to take out the difficulty in the braiding cords. If this doesn't make sense, just try to do the spiral as described in the book and you will find the braiding cords get twisted up. Also there were definitely *not* enough beads. Right after getting the book, I bought a bag of plastic pony beads to practice more. I really enjoy making these bracelets, but overall I expected more out of this book. I recommend it as a decent introduction to hemp beading which is an exceptionally enjoyable craft.

Got it for our nine, almost ten year old daughter for Christmas. She needs help getting started from her 16 year old sister but then she is able to do the patterns by herself. She isn't the type of person that just loves to do crafts, but this is, nevertheless, something she picks to do with some of her free time. She is pleased with how well it looks as finished and she is usu. able to finish a necklace in total time of about an hour and a half or two. It is something you can start and leave and come back to and finish without getting discouraged or overwhelmed for the ave. 10 year old I'd say. Sometimes an older brother or sister will take a turn and do a couple of rounds on the pattern. Pleased with it.

This was a good book, and I loved doing all the knots and especially not having to go buy everything for it. All you have to do is get a pair of scissors and begin. Out comes professional jewelry that you will love. So, I guess you are wondering why I gave it 4 stars. Because the knots don't stay. Several times the knots came out on the bracelets. If you want the bracelet to just stay on, it won't. If you plan to take it off all the time, the loop and knot idea is cool. Secondly, there are two designs that you have to used your own judgment on how big the loops should be and if it's straight. I'm a perfectionist, so that was a challenge for me. All in all, I am harsh just giving it just 4 stars,butI will still recommend it to my friends.

I learned lots of different knots. Some I never even heard of. Plus it comes with all the things you need.

Definitely a great book for beginners. And although I've been making jewelry for sometime
it was still worth the purchase. It doesnt come with alot of hemp but what it does come with is still great. And it also comes with some beads. It would be a great
book for anyone who has kids looking to get into a new hobby.

Loved the klutz books as a kid! Bought this for my niece and she absolutely loves it. She has been making hemp bracelets for two weeks straight now. She is at that age where she is still much a kid, but less interested in playing with toys like she used to. She is really into crafts, she has done just about ever craft in the book. She wanted a bigger kid craft. This was perfect for her, its just as easy as other jewelry to make, but it looks trendy. And her mom enjoys it too.
