Love it! June 20, 2010

I bought two different hemp filters because I wanted to stop using paper filters. The other hemp filter made the coffee taste just a little like fabric, like I was sucking my coffee through a tee-shirt.

This filter just made my coffee taste like coffee. Which, of course, is what you want.

Another reviewer had problems with coffee grounds falling through the fabric. I have not had this problem. I grind my coffee fairly fine, but perhaps not as fine as the other reviewer. So buyers with really finely ground coffee might still have a problem. I couldn't say.

I use this filter in a manual coffee pot (where you pour the water through by hand--not an automatic coffee maker), and it behaves just like my old disposable paper filters.

All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase and I plan to buy a second one for when the first one is in the washing machine.

Too much sludge January 6, 2012

Get the Cusp hemp filters instead. They are significantly cheaper ($4.99) and they pass much less black sludge, while still preserving the low tones in the flavor (which paper filters do not).

good for odd shaped makers January 8, 2011
Size Name:#2 Blank|Amazon Verified Purchase
This worked well for a year or two in a coffee maker that had odd sized ground holders (dripped directly into two travel mugs). At first, it tasted like the soap we washed it with, at end tasted a bit burnt. Didn't try cleaning with vinegar - may help. The swiss gold filters work better, but this was better than the other brands of metal filters which I find to be leaky and make grainy coffee
