I bought this carving set because, while I had a fairly complete set of Henkels Five Star cooking knives, I needed a great meat fork for carving. This set really fills the bill. The meat fork is the best carving fork I've ever used -- much less owned, because the stout tines (which are not too large in diameter) can pierce deeply into the meat, allowing the slicing knife to slide along the fork for making beautiful thin cuts.

Excellent for carving rib roasts and other large roasts, as well as hams and turkeys. The handles keep you firmly in control of whatever dish you are carving, and while they are functional, they were admired by all the guests at Thanksgiving.
