My mother bought this exact set (handles were different) for me when I first moved out approx. 20 yrs ago and they have lasted since then. They hold their sharp edge for a VERY long time! I am donating that older set to a sibling and purchasing this NEW set for myself. Remember, there is nothing more dangerous than a DULL kitchen knife! You will NOT be dissapointed with this set!

I love these knives. They don't keep the best edge, but most of the mid-grade knives I've used typically don't. I usually sharpen after every 5 or 6 uses. Unless your willilng to spend hundreds more for comercial grade chef knives, you can't go wrong with these.
