Henckels Nickel Poultry Shears

My last pair of poultry shears bit the dust. While I could have returned them for their lifetime warranty, I was not too pleased with their performance. So I opted for the Henckels, knowing that they make very good cutlery. These shears are no exception--they are top quality.

These scissors really rip into poultry. They are all metal (so keep them oiled) and have no plastic parts to eventually break, like my last pair. They are so sharp and strong, I feel like Edward Scissorhands when cutting up a chicken.

I've tried my new shears and yes, they are super sharp and cut through anything.

The downside is that the handle design is such that when your hands are coated with poultry fat,(inevidible during the process - at least for me), the shears become very difficult to keep a grip on or keep in position.

I heeded the advise of Joe Blankenfield and spray the 'suckers' with a light coating of Pam spray immediately after washing and drying them, making sure that I get the spray inside the spring. They look like brand new - no spotting, etc. Thanks, Joe.<P(...)

Great for doing what they were intended to do, cut poultry & most anything else you place in between the blades. However, OIL THESE SUCKERS! They are nickel plated but demand you keep them oiled IMMEDIATELY after washing them. They will spot on you ASAP if you give them the chance to. Super great shears if you don't mind the TLC they require.

They are really pretty, but the handles curve the wrong way. I have large hands but I'm having a really hard time holding onto these against the spring so I'm returning them. (Plus I missed the part where they can't go into the dishwasher. Opps! (Not that I've put them there yet, but I read the care tag that came with them.)

Wow! These are fantastic. I went out a bought a couple of fryers that were still frozen. Within a couple of minutes I had turned them into stew parts. I can't wait to carve the turkey this year I know they will make quick work of this hated task. The quality of the scissors is incredible. They are sturdy and are definitely worthy of the name Henkel. I am sure they will last for years to come.

used one time,washed by hand,hand dried and all i have is rusted junk. these shears do NOT come apart for good cleaning and maintenance. don't take me wrong all i have is Henckels in my kitchen but this one should go back to drawing board. don't waste your $$$$$$ on this one.

If only this all-nickel model had a serrated edge...
