Excellent all-purpose knife for a college student,

This review is from: J.A. Henckels Twin Five Star 5-Inch Stainless-Steel Serrated Utility Knife (Kitchen)
My parents always used Henckels knives so I've come to expect the same from all knives. I never realized how good Henckels are until I used someone else's; the difference is night and day. I'm a college student with limited income, but I decided to invest in this. The Henckels 5" utility knife is the perfect size for just about any use. It has a nice weight and a comfy, ergonomic handle. It simply does the job - well. What else can I say?

Never Dulls, Very Versatile,

I have had Henckels knives for years now. They were given to me as gifts but in my lifetime, I will never need to replace these knives. They never get dull and they are so versatile. The 5" serrated utility knife is great for slicing tomatoes when a chef's knife makes them hard to slice. This knife is also great for trimming the fat off of chicken breasts because the fat is gooey and hard to get a hold of with a chef knife. I highly recommend this knife. It's worth the extra money. This knife amongst others are MUST haves!

I purchased this as a replacement to my Henckels set because my first knife 'walked off' somehow after only 5 years of use. Don't know where we lost it, but really missed it when it was gone.
This knife is perfect for slicing tomatoes for a sandwich or for cutting fibrous vegetables. Straight paring knives just don't do the job as well as this serrated blade. As the picture shows, the blade is slightly longer than the handle and fits comfortably in your hand. Simply put, this is one of the most used knives in my kitchen. The five star series has handles you cannot destroy in the dishwasher; blades you can sharpen repeatedly and that hold an edge for a long time... They simply last longer (if you don't lose them). try it. You won't be sorry. |
