I didn't like these scissors at all. I also own the Wusthof kitchen scissors and have used them to cut chickens apart and for heavy kitchen cutting. The first time I used the Henkels to cut a chicken up, it bent the joint where you take the scissors apart. I assumed they were heavier duty. I would never buy them again, I'll stick with Wusthof.

I've had these scissors for a few months now, and I still love them. They are easy to take apart for cleaning and are sharp enough for all of my kitchen tasks. The weight and feel are just right.

Very good pair of kitchen or all purpose shears. It may rust if you put it in the dishwasher though (mine did a bit when I tried this).

They work really well -- the pair I lost were over 15 years old and a lot heavier. Overall they are fine.

After receiving these scissors I noticed that nowhere on the packaging did the words "Dishwasher Safe" appear. I replaced my previous pair because of rusting caused by washing in the dishwasher. Now I've come back to the site to check the comments about this. It is apparent that to avoid rust, I'll just have to bite the bullet and wash these by hand. Oh, well, there are worse fates!

They arrived sharp and are easy to clean, but ours rusted in the center on the first wash. I'm not sure how it can be reported to come apart during use as you have to open it all the way to separate it and my hands aren't big enough to open that far during use, unless you're using 2 hands, or your thumb loses it's grip. These are not the most comfortable for my hands, but that's partly due to the symmetrical design. Openings are just shy of 2.25" at the widest. I'd prefer 4 fingers to fit and slightly thicker contoured handles. The blades are adequately thick but will still flex with just hand pressure. These are a fair, if not good deal, for the price. However, I'm still left wondering whether I should just pony up for the Cutco shears like Mom's. Those are sheer butter.

i have owned several pairs of these take apart scissors. they work great, however i think these henckels ones are slightly more uncomfortable than others.

Shopping around for take-apart shears, I trusted the Henckels name brand despite the suspicious low price. The shears are sharp, easy to take apart and then put together, and there is no issue with alignment.

The one drawback is how easily it rusts. It's not enough to affect performance, but there are brown spots that do not come out no matter how much I scrub.

Bought these for my daughter for xmas. They're really well made and look like they'd go through the dishwasher easily. The take apart hinge looks solid and won't collect dirt. I didn't try the bottle cap wrench but it looks like it would work for small bottles, e.g., ketchup and soy sauce, not jars, e.g., honey or jam. Maybe it would work better to grip the points.

Henckels makes good stuff. I visited their factory when I lived in Germany > 30 years ago and everything I bought then is still functioning great.

I have had these shears for a few months and so far they have been very good. They cut most household items with ease. The take apart feature is great when they need to be cleaned. So far I am very happy with this item.
