A great gift, this six-piece set equips a cook with the essential knives needed to prepare any meal, a 9-inch sharpening steel to keep blade edges aligned, a pair of rugged kitchen shears, and a wood cutting board. The knives are a 3-inch paring knife, a 5-inch utility knife, and an 8-inch chef's knife. The shears have teeth between their blades and another set between their handles to twist off jar tops and bottle caps. The cutting board measures 14 by 10 inches and is a sturdy 5/8-inch thick. Henckels International Fine Edge Pro is an inexpensive cutlery line made in countries outside Henckels' home of Germany. For the price this set is ok. I prefer a heavier knife but my wife loves the set . She likes the feel and they are very sharp. Time will tell how they will stand up to heavy usage.

Really like the shears and paring knife. Most commonly used item however is the shapening metal...EVERY TIME I use the other knives.
I would say they don't really keep their edge...have had this under 2 years.

This knife set has the three knives I use the most plus a sharping steel. They are of good quality and stand up to normal use well.
