I got this set for my mother who was extremely happy with the stylish look, quality, weight per piece, sturdiness, and value (I was the one happy with the value). This is a very handsome flatware set that can be used on a daily basis or for special occasions. It is well worth the value and after seeing and using these I will be buying a set for my sister for Christmas. You won't be disappointed with the price, value, look, or feel. This is an excellent set and I'm glad I chose this particular service. I have no regrets in purchasing this set.

Please be aware that although J A Henckels is a quality German company this set of flatware is manufactured in another country. Even so, the quality is NOT compromised and meets or exceeds Henckels standard of quality.

Due to a question I decided to update this since I forgot I had rated this set. I am still extremely happy with this purchase. Unlike another rater none of our flatware has scratches or rust. I tend to wonder what the other poster is cleaning with. Not one piece has bent either. One would have to purposely try and bend it with force or use it as a pry bar to open something. My mother's set is still flawless and still looks great. Our only bummer is someone threw away 2 spoons and that had nothing to do with Henckels. IMHO regarless of where this was manufactured the owner and I are still extremely happy with this set of flatware after 2 years of daily use.

If these unhappy raters have bought from 3rd party vendors that could be the reason for their problem. (Buying knock offs.) Buy direct from Amaozon LLC and you should get the real deal.

I love this set of flatware. They are simple but so beautiful. The handles are long and comfortable to hold. They have a great weight to them and they are very strong. I especially liked how deep the spoons are.
I priced this set at several stores and even researched nickel content. The price this set went for on Amazon was unbeatable. What a deal!

First off, let me say this flatware set is extremely good looking. It's also lighter than I expected, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. However, I followed Henckels' dishwasher directions perfectly and upon pulling the flatware out of the dishwasher I found some of them already had begun to have rust spots. After one wash!

I'm really disappointed. This was the first set of "high quality" flatware I ever bought. Even el cheapo flatware from Chi-Mart holds off on rusting for at least a few washes.

I am in the process of returning this set to Amazon. Thanks for making it easy to return this stuff, Amazon. I'm going to search for another new set now...sigh. By the way, this set is made in China in case you were wondering.

I ordered this set hoping it was really 18/10 and a good quality. I wasnt disappointed. This set IS 18/10 and it is extremly heavy. Very shiny and does fine in the dishwasher, no rust. The size is a lot bigger than I have ever bought. It is like the mother of all silverware. BIG forks, knives, ect.. The hostess set is really nice, I dont use them but it is still nice. The pieces are a really elegant design and solid one piece construction that is totally smooth. This is my bargain of the year, top quality and bargain price.

I have had this flatware for two weeks now and I can't figure out what the 1 and 2-star ratings are all about. This flatware is not light weight or flimsy at all. I have washed it in the dishawasher with no rusting whatsoever. It is a very nice weight and very good quality. I shopped for quite a while before I ran across this very good deal. It was an excellent price for the quality. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

I received the J.A. Henckels "Provence" flatware set from my daughter last year as a Christmas gift. It is gorgeous yet practical as I use the set as my everyday tableware. Because I am so pleased with the quality and style I am going to order the exact 45 piece for my Mother-in-law's gift for Christmas this year. I give it two thumbs up!

This flatware is very attractive and a good value. The "feel" is exactly what I was looking for and the design and overall size are perfect. The salad fork is sufficiently smaller than the dinner fork to make a very attractive place setting.

I had tried some other 18/10 flatware and though nice looking, the extremely large size of the pieces with very little size difference in the forks and the overall bulkiness with each piece being so heavy it felt "institutional" makes the Provence more desirable to me.

With the sharpness of the knife we have not needed a steak knife at all when using this flatware.

To avoide water spots, it does look better when dried with a cloth.

Amazon shipped quickly with good packing. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I was a little sad today though when I realized that Amazon has dropped the price $5 from when I purchased it just a few weeks ago!

This set replaced an aging and dwindling Reed & Barton set we'd had since 1982. We researched for value and quality, and ended up choosing this set. It's beautifully made, has beautiful design, and is simply amazing value for the price. The 18/10 stainless steel is flawlessly finished, and comfortable to use. This set far exceeded our expectations for a set in this price range. I honestly don't know what spending twice as much would have purchased....I suppose it would nice if it was available in sets of 4 so we could round it out to a set for 12. Otherwise, we're totally satisfied.

I really like these, they have good weight to them, the knives cut well, and they look great.

This is my second review of this product as I had to edit the previous one. At first I gave the product 5 stars! It has a nice design, and is pretty strong (does not bend easily). But now I can also see some rust as a few other people do which is extremely disappointing! The outer coating on one of the knives and a large serving fork got (or was) chopped off (about 1x1 mm area) and now that area got rusty:(
