Henckels International Traditional 16-Piece Knife Block Set

These may not be top of the line Henckels, but they are very sharp and cut much better than my old set of knives (some cheap $$ set from farberware). Plus, you can't beat the price! But because these are wood handles, you need to take a bit of extra care in keeping them looking as good as new. As the instructions say, do not wash in the dishwasher and occasionally use mineral oil on the wood handles to keep it looking new. I've also found that if I left a stain sitting on the blade for a while, it is harder to wash out, so I'd wash these knives right after use.

It would be a great knife set by just about any other manufacturer, but it's disappointing for a set with the Henckels name. The steak knives seem like a cheap afterthought. There aren't slots for them in the knife block and they seem to be poorly made in comparison with other Henckel's products. They're akin to butter knives with a serrated edge and are very awkward for cutting steak(for which they are intended). The rest of the knife seems to be up to par with what I expected of a lower priced set from Henckels.

Good value only thing steak knifes are cheap and very dull.

from the cook knife to the paring knife, will do excellent job.

After receiving this set I was surprised to see that half of the set (the 8 steak knives) were so poorly made they probably wouldn't cut bread, let alone a steak or tomato! The solid stainless steel, serrated-edged knives are made in Korea, do not have matching wood handles or high carbon steel blades like the rest of the traditional Henckels knives in this set. I sent an email to the company and received no response either. They definitely need to improve the quality control on this Korean supplier.

Well, I bought this set without researching the difference between international set and real set from Germany.The kifves were rather dull, and its cheap price indicated its quality. I regret to jump up and bought the set at the department store.I am aware of how expensive the products from Germany, although it would be worth collecting the knives from REAL henckels!

Nice knifes good value but steak knifes are dull but otherwise set of knifes are sharp.
