Pairing an 8-inch slicing knife and a 7-inch fork, this carving set supplies a cook--or whoever's at the head of the table--with tools to properly divide a turkey, roast beef, ham, or other hefty main course. With its narrow, thin blade, the knife carves perfect slices while the fork holds food steady and then moves slices from carving surface to plate or platter. The set comes in an attractive wood box for storing on a sideboard or in a drawer. Though both knife and fork are dishwasher-safe, the knife should be hand washed to protect its edge. Made in Germany, this set carries a lifetime warranty against defects. This is a fine set of Henckels cutlery. The 'presentation' box is made in
China and is so cheaply made I'm surprised it was included. I had considered a similar set without the box, but thought as a gift, the box would add some 'value.' I wood not recommend the box for the cheapest set of screwdrivers, let alone a top of the line Henckels carving set.
