Not sure how no one has got around to reviewing this amazing album yet, September 3, 2008
This review is from: Henge (Audio CD)
If you are familiar with the work of Zombi, then this should be a no brainer. If you are not yet acquainted with Zombi, do yourself a favor and check them out as well. Steve Moore, who is one half of Zombi, provides us with a hauntingly atmospheric instrumental solo album. Steve is a modern day mastermind who creates beautiful music using analog synthesizers (among other instruments) reminiscent of the sounds old Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter (for lack of a better description). The first two tracks "Introduction" followed by "Infinite Resignation" will immediately draw you in. Be careful, you may get caught in a trance before you jump out of your skin during the opening of the title track "The Henge". The second half of the album begins with the delicate "Dead Tide" before plunging into the unexpected "Cepheid" which shifts the album into an upbeat dance mode that morphs into an eerie conclusion. Turn the lights off, close your eyes, and open your ears and imagination. Enjoy and don't forget to check out Steve's music on myspace including his work with Zombi and his side project Lovelock.
