5.0 out of 5 stars Borrow some money and buy it, March 27, 1999
By A Customer
Hartley's soundtracks, much like his films, just keep getting better. The score is weirder and darker than previous stuff, but it still has that characteristic feel of his--simple and complex at the same time. And the songs by Ryful are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best CD i have in my shelf, July 27, 2001
By A Customer
I haven't seen the film, but i look forward to see it, and i am a fan of some H.H. films, the first one i saw was "The Book of Life" and i have both the DVD and the CD, so then i decided to buy this one, and believe me you won't regret it, is just great all the songs are powerful and beautiful, Ryful and Hal do here such a great and wondeful job, you won't regret buying this CD,and i have my favourite songs, and they are "Henry Fool", "Fay's Wedding", "Gigolo", "Vicky's Deeper Feelings", "he Confession", well i loved the whole soundtrack and i strongly recommend you to buy it. TWO BIG THUMBS WAY UP!

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Henry, November 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my favorite Hal soundtrack. Fay Grim seems to be based on 2 or 3 pieces here but rearranged. The instrumental tracks have a kind of reoccurring theme that for lack of a better description when Steve Kilbey dreams he is Brian Eno 1976. The tracks with vocals have arms and legs of their own and could be different albums semi-quazi shoegazer sometimes gothic. Somehow the soundtrack makes the movie meaningful and have relevance, with the sound turned down appears to be a drunkard, ex-poets attempt to be a wannabee con-man in all the wrong places. I have yet to listen to it too much and would sit through the movie again just for the soundtrack. As side from this , all of Possible Music and Girl From Monday are other necessary Hal soundtracks.
