4.0 out of 5 stars Vive l'ambiance!, November 27, 1998

If you have ever wished you had lived in Paris in the 1920s, this album will induce more fantasies. The composition of the album staggers a bit from vocal to classical and back, as is the trait of many soundtracks, but never is the silken thread of dark-eyed pleasure broken. Perfect music for pensive reflection out a window, cooking your favorite recipes, or any garishly sensual undertaking.

I have been listening to this CD for a decade now. Never once have I tired of having it around. I would say that the music here fits together so very well that the essence produces an aura that is haunting and will provide an ambiance that is sophisticated and serene.

The music is all from the 1920's, the time Henry Miller spent in Paris. The producers of this decent though not classic film wanted to pull together music of the period that would have been heard by Miller in Paris at the time.

I would totally get this cd. It is great.

Having been a huge fan of this sexy little flick over the years, it seemed like a no brainer to introduce the soundtrack into my pile of must plays. Ever since receiving it, it's been on daily repeat as I cook and play away in my kitchen. Really is such a great soundtrack to be creative to and you suddenly feel lighter and happier whenever it plays. Can't really ask for much more, eh?
