There are only four songs with James Galway. The way this recording is presented is misleading and buyers should be aware that this is NOT a joint effort between these two great artists.. I was totally disappointed. I think Henry Mancini is wonderful but was expecting to hear a collaboration. So if you're looking for flute music this isn't it. However it's a great collecton of Henry Mancini's work.

I heard this on PBS. Galway and Mancini may be two of the most talented musicians of our century. Galway for his complete mastery of the flute and Mancini for his ability to arrange , produce and in this instance direct the orchestra while Galway performs. They do several duets of a comical nature as well. This is important because it is one of Mancini's last efforts prior to his unfortunate passing.

I find that the 2-disc set of the Great Henry Mancini projects to represent the "cream-of-the-crop" of all his magnificent works and I truly recommend that anyone interested in classic motion-picture themes and related material purchase this set. One will not be at all disappointed in their "investment" in such classic art.

I picked this album up on double cassette in a second hand shop for 10p, yes 10p!
Took it home and just played it and i have really taken to it, its so enjoyable and nostalgic! A mix of classical instruments, dreamy, romantic vocals & some brilliant fun melodies too.
I am so happy i discovered it & am glad to be posting this review.
