This is a good way to see if you like Henry Miller's wonderful outlook on life and it's many foibles. He has such a way of writing, as though you were sitting off to the side of room listening to him ramble on about all sorts of interesting ideas and people. He has some really great insights into any place in the world he visits and shares his impressions of such a wide variety of characters. Good reading of many short pieces, so you can read some, set it aside for awhile and return for a few more.
