In this book Henry and his big dog, Mudge, enjoy the escapades of fall. They shake together as Henry's mom tells scary Halloween stories and together they endure the Thanksgiving visit from Aunt Sally. These books are a favorite for my reluctant reader. The love between Henry and his dog Mudge is heart-warming.

My 3 year old grandson loves these Henry & Mudge books. He wants to read them over and over. He'll be getting more for Christmas.

My daughter loves reading this book and she also enjoys having this book read to her (over and over).
Cynthia Rylant is one of our favorite authors. Even in simple, early reader-type books, she has a way
of turning prose into poetry.

This series of stories are sweet and fun. My 4 year old boy enjoys the adventures of this boy and his dog.
We like that it is a realistic dog who does doggy things. His "thoughts and feelings" are related by actions in the story. They are peaceful, loving, charming stories. When Mudge lays his big head on Henry's bed at night you just feel the security and love.
