Wonderfully put together. Easy to read and understand. This person knows from experience what she is talking about. Really helped me as a Hep C sufferer! I would reccommend this book to anyone who has Hep C or has a friend or family member who does. I have never seen anything like it! THANK YOU.

Hepatitis C Cookbook,

This author puts extreme stress on food being of organic origins, and reducing intake of red meats. Unfortunately she loads recipes with whole milk, cream and butter. The butterfat in these products are is unhealthful as eating meat fat. They should be limited in all diets, but especially in foods prepared for people with liver damage.

I agree with the other reviewer. To much dairy is not good for liver. Actually all dairy shoould be eliminated and more green vegetables!

I am a nurse practitioner who contracted Hepatitis C from an accidental needle stick injury. In reading the opening chapters, there were many mistaken facts and flat-out incorrect advice. For example, the author talks about limiting caffeine when recent studies have proven that coffee is very helpful in reducing liver inflammation. Additionally, she talks about "weaning" off red meats, when actually a vegeterian diet is much more beneficial. The cookbook includes many recipes for chicken and fat laden ingredients such as cheeses, cream, etc. This author is not well informed and the cookbook has limited usage. Any informed person with Hep C will immediately recognize how poorly this author researched her topic. She should have included a nutritionist and hepatologist.

Gave me something to go by for my cooking since I recently found out I have Hep C. She uses dairy products and that is not good for those with liver disease. So I just substitute the dairy with soy.

I hear alot about hep c but never what is good to eat if you are living with this disease. This cook book was informative with very easy to make meals. Format was easy to follow. Good meals that were easy and not expensive.I think it is a cook book that everyone could use. I am also diabetic and most of the meals were very good for that as well. The meals were also not blah:(. Tasted great {:.
Tops up to this book. The cook book was great price to. If you are concerned about the disease or have other ailments this book is for you. The rest of my family liked the food so that was even better. One and only comment that is not favorable is not enough low cal desserts. That is why 4 outta 5. |
