Best one in trilogy, 4 1/2 stars,
This review is from: Her Every Pleasure: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm a huge sucker for princess/bodyguard romances, and this one was no exception.
In terms of the characters, Gabriel was a hero to die for, and Princess Sophia was a strong queen to-be and every bit his equal. I like that there was some jealousy and tension on both ends during certain parts of the story, but no Big Misunderstanding, and that the characters were able to communicate with each other and resolve these issues rather quickly. I give this read 4.5 stars (rounds up to 5) because it is a beautifully written love story that is a strong stand-alone read on its own. Not 5 stars because I'm biased and have already read a story with a very similar plot by this author before (Princess -- think Darius and Seraphina, this princess' name even starts with an "S," she also happens to rule a small made-up kingdom somewhere in the Mediterranean, also happens to have the dark/exotic look, except I liked Sophia's character much better than Seraphina's). Also, I didn't care much for the author's depiction of the secondary characters in this story (mainly, the villains) because they seemed rather one-dimensional, so I ended up skimming over those parts. However, what really made Her Every Pleasure memorable for is that it deals with serious issues like death (and what happens thereafter), destiny (or pre-destination), things that I don't think Foley has directly touched upon before. Also, I thought a couple of the love scenes were quite creative and included some hot stuff I haven't read from her before, so I applaud her for that as well. Pick this one up if you haven't already, especially if you haven't already read "Princess" by this author -- it's definitely better than a lot of the other stuff out there. Happy reading =)

Not one of my favorite, but sad to see the end of the Knights,

I'm afraid that Gaelen Foley is being pressured by her publishers to get the books out quickly, because I've noticed the quality has gone down as the months between books has also gone down. This is a terrible shame, because she quickly became one of my favorite authors when I first read The Duke years ago. Unlike most reviewers, I really liked Lizzie and Alec's books; they were two of my favorites, actually. I never quite got into the Spice Trilogy, and this was actually my least favorite. The plot sounded good...definitely more exciting and interesting than Derek's book...but I just couldn't get into it. Foley put in the lovely words and such, but I didn't believe it. There was no magic, and I don't know why, but I didn't care what happened to any of them one bit.
I hate how Griff sounded in this book. He came off looking like a total jerk towards women. But anyways, I'm sorry to see the Knight series end. Even if I didn't love the book, I still LOOOOOVE me some Knights. Love the Knights! The bottom line, though is that Gaelen Foley's books are better than most of what's out there, even ones I don't love. I hoooooope she takes her time on her next project!!

Started off excellent..,

In the beginning the chemistry was wonderful and the story was engrossing. I loved both Sophia and Gabriel's characters. But right around the middle they lost their personalities and the story line was unconvincing. I didn't care at all about Sophia's kingdom and I disliked her in her princess persona. Gabriel lost some of his charm too. It would have beeen an excellent read if the whole princess thing had been dropped.

Ok, but a bit of a let down,

After reading Foley's entire series on the Knight family starting with the first book, this last book didn't live up to the beginning of the series. Everything seems a little too perfect in the world that Sophia and Gabriel, the leads in the book, live in. While they have some conflicts and problems there wasn't much depth to them, and the herione seems to gaspingly admire everything about the perfect hero. I will however, give the book points for letting slip away into a little world where everything works out semi smoothly and the hero and heroine are seemingly perfect. If that is what you are looking for, this is your book. But, if your looking for a little more depth, conflict, and realism this book isn't going to excite you all that much.

disappointing,
This review is from: Her Every Pleasure: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
Gaelen Foley's has written some terrific books, but this is not even close to being her best. I'm not a fan of royal romances, nor of action adventure romances, and this is both.
If you hadn't read the previous books in this trilogy, I'm not sure you'd have any clue about Gabriel, and Sophia is not a well-developed character. There were some plot devices that seemed silly, and the middle of the book really dragged, I struggled to finish it. I hope that Gaelen Foley isn't becoming an author who just churns books out no matter the quality!

i,too, was eagerly looking forward to this book's publication, being an avid foley fan. as the book starts, our hero, gabriel,is searching for his place and meaning in life.while he is a strong alpha male he also has a very vulnerable side which,of course, makes him eminently likeable. our heroine sophia enters and she too is torn between her duty to her country and her attraction to our hero. so far,so good. unfortunately the story takes a bad turn and most of the rest of the book focuses on the struggle of sophia not to get herself killed and to take the back the throne of her little country. i thought it boring, unneccesary and way too contrived, battle scenes, knife fights, betrayals and all. i wanted more of our main characters conflicts within themselves and the resolution of those issues and the emergence of their love despite their
struggles. gabriel almost turns one dimensional as he puts up with sophia's majestic hubris while she doesn't seem to put him first in any sense, altho she is aware of his internal conflict with going back into battle. all in all, a very disappointing read.

What a let down!,

I have always loved this author. But this book was a major let down. I would love to see her take some time to go back to her old writing style and put out some wonderful books again. If this is your first experience with Foley, please know that her other books are much better and give them a try.

I ran right out to get this book because it was by Gaelen Foley and she writes excellent books. I finished this one rather quickly which is always a sign of a good book. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was good, the backstory was interesting, there was plenty of steamy sex(but not too much). The relationship is allowed to build over time and I like that about her books. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because there seemed to be a bit too much backstory about half-way through the book. I would have liked more time on the farm, instead of going back to the palace too quickly. There were plenty of *sigh* moments towards the end...very romantic.

Not my favorite of this series,
This review is from: Her Every Pleasure: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
I want to say I was really looking forward to Gabriel Knight's story, and I loved the beginning of the book, but as other reviewers have mentioned, I didn't care for Princess Sofia. That said, Gaelen Foley can't write a bad book. I gave it three stars when I give most of her novels five stars. The romance of the book just didn't interest me near as much as the adventure part of it. I must say, that part made me unable to put it down! Gabriel is a fabulous character, but the book about his brother Derek was much better.

Do authors hire ghost writers once they have a lot of books out? This book was not enjoyable.
