Rita Herron spins an exciting tale in "Her Eyewitness," which has a fresh, attention-grabbing premise that certainly intrigues. The book begins with a bang, introducing Sydney's fear and heartbreak and an attempt on her life all in the first chapter. From there, Ms. Herron never lets up, and a lot of the time, "Her Eyewitness" is a real page-turner. There are a few things that could have been improved--the romance could have been better developed, as a heroine, Sydney's a bit on the wimpy side, and the killer's identity probably isn't as big a surprise as Ms. Herron intended it. But many will find those points easy to overlook, as the nonstop action and dangerous situations Collin and Sydney find themselves in are sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Her Eyewitness by Rita Herron
Harlequin Intrigue # 523 - July 1999
Harlequin Special Release February 2006
Collin lost his sight in the line of duty. A man's brutal murder has given him the corneal transplant he needs to see again. When the bandages come off, Collin is overtaken my images as if he were the man that had been murdered. The cop in him won't rest until he knows that the donor's murder has been solved.
Sydney is the prime suspect in her husband's murder. Everywhere she turns, she learns more and more of how deceitful and corrupt her husband was. Not only was he cheating his business associates but he was cheating on her too. When someone tampers with her brakes, Collin is there to save her. Sydney's not sure if she can trust Collin, maybe he was the murderer; he seemed to know so much about her life.
Collin's not sure if the attraction he feels for Sydney is his own, or memories from a dead man. He only knows that Sydney's innocent and that she's in grave danger. He's willing to protect her with his life.
This is one of those stories that as soon as you pick it up, you just can't put it down until you're finished. I think Ms. Herron made it believable that a transplant recipient could share memories from the donor. Collin is one of those strong but sensitive types, or at least, he's become more sensitive since his sight has been restored. You have got to love a man who's learned to smell and see the roses. Sydney is a woman betrayed and yet she tries to stand tall through every sordid detail of her husband's deceit. A thoroughly good read!

SYNOPSIS, April 18, 2006
This review is from: Her Eyewitness (Harlequin Romantic Suspense) (Mass Market Paperback)
The transplant that restored Collin Cash's eyesight also gave him a chilling view to a cold-blooded murder. He may not be able to identify the killer of Doug Green--the man whose eyes are now his--but Collin is certain of one thing: it is not Sydney Green, the victim's widow.
Sydney is desperate for answers that will convince the police she had nothing to do with her husband's death. For now, her only chance lies with Collin, who believes in her innocence. She senses Collin is a man with a few secrets of his own, but Sydney is grimly aware that she is being stalked. And Collin may be her only hope of staying alive long enough to see the truth.
