More About the Author

I blame it all on Aaron Spelling. While normal 13 year olds were playing Atari, I was tuning in to "Dynasty" and "The Colby's." My peers learned how to beat their game systems at Donkey Kong and Space Invaders and I learned about blackmail, extramarital affairs, and corporate takeovers through "The Queen of Scheme," Alexis Morell-Carrington-Colby-Dexter-Colby-Rowan. As near as I can recall, my love for spinning a good yarn began then. Hopeless romantic. Avid reader.

Writing has been a creative outlet for me since my high school days. While attending college, I would entertain my roommates with what they called, "Bedtime Stories." Never anything Mother Goose or Aesop would approve of. I've always loved holding the rapt attention of others as I unleashed the world my imagination created. As a writer of romance stories, I do have a literary confession to make; I simply adore great mystery books! I read them every chance I get.

The Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania are where my family and I have made our home. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we have been blessed with two wonderful teen daughters. We are animal lovers and include a dog, three cats, a horse, 14 chickens, and a half-dozen minnows as part of our pet menagerie. Much of our spare time is spent at a nearby horse farm where our daughters take dressage lessons. I love attending horse shows and, occasionally, get to watch my children compete! Our oldest has shown quite successfully in the American Quarter Horse Youth Association show series and our youngest has shown at local open show events in the Riders With Disabilities classes. Our youngest was diagnosed in 2010 with PDD-NOS which is an Autism Spectrum Disorder. My husband and I are actively involved in our local school community helping to spread awareness and acceptance for those with an ASD. If we can reach them, we can teach them!

This book has it all. Fame, riches, loss, struggles, betrayal, passion, love, hatred, and triumph. The author hooked me from the beginning, and the book was an easy read because the plot was intriguing and I fell in love with the characters. This book would make a great movie. CP Stringham, keep more of these books coming!

I really got hooked from the first page, I finished it in one day the only problem was the ending it ended when you wanted the story to go on. I feel a few more chapters were in order. I can certainly understand the family I think they felt they were just too rich to really love the son and daughter they did in their own way but to leave everything up to the nanny it would make anyone feel insecure, I was glad the father explained his feelings and the ending was great I would like to read more from this author.

I had reservations about "Her Father's Last Request" when I got it as a "freebie". It sounded interesting, but I wasn't familiar with the author and I did expect to be disappointed, as contemporary romances are not my favourite in the romance genre. I started reading it, thinking that I would end up putting it in a discard pile and deleting it. Instead, I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. reading it, so obviously, I liked it!

The book was well written, with some humour and drama, the characters were well developed, and the plot held my interest. Some of the characters were flawed individuals, but were likeable, nonetheless. I did not find the book to be boring, as even the slower paced sections had a purpose in furthering the plot or in showing character growth and development. These scenes did not seem to be just thrown in as filler, and they contributed to the further understanding of the characters and their motivations, in a leisurely but interesting way.

This book wouldn't be considered a "clean" read by some, but by today's norms, the occasional "F" bomb or other swearing fit in with the story and were not excessive or gratuitous, in my opinion. Similarly, there were sex scenes, but they fit in well with the story. I have read books that were one long series of sex scenes with hardly any story holding them together. Those kinds of books get very boring and tedious. This book seemed to have enough sex to add to the story, but not so much as to make it thinly disguised porn or erotica.

The plot held together well, for me. Was it totally believable? Perhaps not, but it is fiction and was written well enough that I had no problem suspending disbelief.

I was interested in the story as soon as I started the first page! While occasionally a bit too detailed when covering minor points such as internet "clicks", this is very well-written! Good job C.P.!

The way the author combined two very different people and their surrounds together to make this truly inspirational story was with out a doubt a remarkable feat. Charlotte was from a rich silver spoon family and her world got turned upside down the day her father died. What follows is a story about self discovery and true love.

This was a delightful book to read! The characters were well-developed and the story line was engaging. It evoked a true emotional response, and I can't wait for the sequel!
