Book Description

A novella length romantic comedy, with a dash of the serious. Longer than a short story, shorter than a full-length novel - just the right size for a busy reader!

Throw a crazy canine, a handyman, and a quirky artist together and you've got mayhem!
Jake's engaged to a sexy, perfect woman, who's even a great cook!
There's no room in his life for wealthy unconventional Zoe, who eats raw vegetables and probably can't even boil an egg -- or is there?
Are Jake's perfect plans about to be disrupted?
Blame it all on a far-out dog named FuFu, who dropped a toy in the toilet.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

For almost 40 years, I've owned a dog, so I've always been attracted to books with dogs in them. I couldn't resist including one in Her Handyman.

FuFu's not just any dog, but a Chinese Crested canine. They're the breed that wins ugliest dog contests, but there's something about their imperfection that's cute!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly sweet to read September 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a refreshingly sweet and charming story about two people whose initial introduction would never have happened except for an overflowing toilet. Eccentric, talented and successful artist, Zoe has the overflowing toilet and calls handyman Jake of All Trades. And since there's no job too big or too small for handsome, regular guy, Jake, he's happy to comply.

Nothing might have come of this brief assignment, except that he trips on the wet bathroom floor, and concussed and bleeding he must stay on the floor, head on Zoe's lap until the EMT's arrive.

The result is that two completely different people from completely different lifestyles have a chance get to know and actually like each other. So begins the story of Jake and Zoe.

I was immediately rooting for them, yet appreciating how hard it was for them to accept their growing feelings for each other. After all, Jake had a fiancé and Zoe had all sorts of troubles, family secrets and phobias.

Yes, in the end, guy gets girl, but you will love the journey of these two unlikely lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another successful romance! October 3, 2012
By Terry
Format:Kindle Edition
Her Handyman, by Morgan Mandel, does not fail to delight readers who have read previous books of Mandel's. A handsome man engaged to his lifelong friend works at helping others solve their problems physically, and sometimes he is able to help improve a person's outlook on life as well. After all, having things fixed by an expert 'Jack of All Trades' would improve anyone's outlook. But when Zoe calls for help, Jake responds and encounters someone like no one he has ever encountered before, and suddenly his lifelong expectation of living life contentedly in a stable marriage to Angelina comes into question. And Zoe, someone who has been hurt by loss and perceived deception, has a lonely existence that Jake wants to help her escape. Angelina, surrounded by a loving, ever-present family, begins to suspect that Jake's work as Zoe's handyman may involve more than just hammers and wrenches. Morgan Mandel once again keeps the reader guessing who will bring Jake forward toward his ultimate goal of helping people as a psychologist until the closing chapter. This is a 5 star romance!

4.0 out of 5 stars Relatable Characters in a Charming Read January 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Jack-of-all-trades Jake and zany and quirky artist Zoe couldn't be more different. After Jake comes to Zoe's rescue one night, neither can stop thinking about the other. Their instant connection forms the bonds of friendship, but soon their attachment grows deeper.

Morgan Mandel does a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life. Jake and Zoe aren't perfect, and life isn't always easy for them. Readers will relate to the real-life issues they need to overcome before finding their happily ever after. If you're looking for a sweet and charming story to read in an afternoon, this is the book for you.
