Book Description

Alice is all grown up. Running the Mad Hatter's Cupcakery and Tea Shoppe is a delicious job, until fate--and a fairy godmother with a weakness for bad boys--throws her a curveball. Now, Alice is the newest resident of Wonderland, where the Mad Hatter fuels her fantasies and thrills her body with his dark touch.

The Mad Hatter may have a voice and a body made for sex, but he takes no lovers. Ever. But a determined fairy godmother has forced Alice into Wonderland--and his arms. Now, as desire and madness converge, the Hatter must decide if he will fight the fairy godmother's mating--or fight for Alice.

Long length Novella ~ Approx. 40k words. Additional pages are sneak peeks to future books!

This is not erotica, just a good old fashioned romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mad Hatter Wonderful July 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
In this revisit to the classic fairy tale, Alice is an adult, running a tea shop and bakery, whose life is a little ho-hum until she meets a handsome stranger--emphasis on the strange. The guy outside her cafe is disheveled and decidedly odd, but something about him reminds Alice of her favorite character from childhood, The Mad Hatter.

Determined to find the perfect match for her sexy male charge, the fairy godmother flicks her magic wand, bending time and space, so that the Mad Hatter gets his just reward--Alice.

But things are not what they seem and reality blurs when Alice lands in Wonderland. If she stays, her old life, her family and friends, will be lost to her forever. But if she goes, she loses the one man she can truly love--if he's not a figment of her imagination!

Ms. Hall's romantic take on Alice in Wonderland is both refreshing and revealing, showing the strength of her prose. A sexy, fun, and poignant story that is simply wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Her Mad Hatter--Awesome! July 9, 2012
By Wistafa
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great read! For any of you out there with a good imagination, and love to read "happily ever afters"... this is for you. It is not your normal sappy happy ever after... it is edgy and fun. The author goes into enough detail to "see" what she is talking about, but not too much to bore you to tears. Marie Hall is a wonderful writer, and I can hardly wait to see what she comes up with next. All I can say, is whatever it is... I'm going to get it!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a Delightful Read! September 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
We are introduced to the story by Danika, fairy godmother to the bad boys of the fairy tale world. Rather dismissive of the "Prince Charming" and godmothers of the bippity boppity boo ilk, Danika is on her second attempt to find the Mad Hatters true love. And it's a rush job, as Hatter is fast becoming more mad every day.

Enter Alice Hu, all grown up and new owner of the Mad Hatter's Cupcakery and Tea Shoppe. Alice has a fascination with the stories that carry her name, and a secret fantasy of her Hatter, styled after the Johnny Depp characterization of the Tim Burton movie. Alice is the great-granddaughter, and spitting image, of the first Alice Danika introduced to Wonderland - a colossal failure of an introduction, that hastened the decline of Wonderland and the sanity of Hatter.

What follows is a delightful romp through Wonderland, liberally sprinkled with snips of other faerie tales, carefully and imaginatively detailed in a way that brings the memories of the original story of Alice to light.

Of course, it's a romance with a choice for loss or gain. If Hatter fights to love and keep Alice, he maintains his sanity and lives in Wonderland and love forever. If Alice stays - she leaves behind her family, friends and business: but has the one man who she dreams of nightly, that fills her every need.

There is a ton of action and emotion poured into this novella; while Alice is important, we see more of Wonderland from Hatter's perspective, even laden with the dour quotes from Poe. He is deliciously detailed, his flights into obscurity keep the reader, and Alice delightfully off balance. Alice is busy trying to relate the unknown to the world, and book, that she knows - and often comes up short.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good start to series November 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Her Mad Hatter is book 1 to the Kingdom series. Hall creates an alternate world where fairytale characters all live together in Kingdom and only the fairy godmothers can send the characters between Kingdom and Earth. The first book introduces fairy godmother Danika, who works with the low-lifes no other godmothers want. At the beginning of the story one of the other fairies tell Danika that if she does not find soul mates for The Bad Five within the year, something bad is going to happen in each of their lives. She sets off first to find the perfect Alice for the Mad Hatter after years of searching. She brings an Alice to Wonderland, who is given three days with the Mad Hatter.

I only gave this 3 stars for a couple of reasons. First, I didn't love the characters in this book. There wasn't a great deal of development among them, mostly because Alice and Hatter spend half of the three days together having sex. Which brings me to my second reason. The language and details of the sex was a bit much. I would almost describe it as erotica, which is not what I was looking for or expecting. Finally, the way the plot resolves itself at the end was not really my favorite. I was only kind of happy with the resolution.

I already had the second book in this series by the time I finished this one so I went ahead and read it anyway. I am glad I did because it was much better. Don't base your thoughts on the series solely on this book. The overall plot is very intriguing that I think there is a lot of room to learn behind the character's stories here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant August 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
In this short novel, Marie Hall weaved a world filled with magic and mystery and filled with it delightful surprises. It might look like a retelling of Alice in Wonderland, but this is NOT the classic story you may know from your childhood and is made with some enticing adult scenes.

This book was lighthearted and funny and witty with amazing imagery on every page. I was fully absorbed into the Hatter's madness and the enchanting world of Wonderland. I hope to see some of the other characters find their matches by the fairy matchmaker, Danika in future books.

I laughed out loud more than once reading Her Mad Hatter and I was moved to tears.

I don't want to give you too many spoilers but it was touching the way the Mad Hatter needed Alice to complete him and heal Wonderland. Then Alice needed the Hatter's love and Wonderland to save her.

This was an excellent fantasy romance and comes highly recommended. Totally worth the time and money in my opinion.

More About the Author

Marie Hall is a NY TIMES and USA Today bestselling author who loves books that make you think, or feel something. Preferably both. And while she's a total girly girl and loves glitter and rainbows, she's just as happy when she's writing about the dark underbelly of society. Well, if things like zombies, and vampires, and werewolves, and mermaids existed. (Although she has it on good authority that mermaids do in fact exist, because the internet told her so.)

She's married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk. She has two awesome kids, lives in Hawaii, loves cooking and occasionally has been known to crochet. She also really loves talking about herself in the third person.
