Excellent Voice & Great lyrics, June 23, 2006
This review is from: And Her Jumping Flea (Audio CD)
Got this CD on a whim and we haven't stopped playing it. I actually got it for the covers which were great but in the end It was her songs that blew us away, this girl has talent. Her Ukulele playing is perfect for the way she sings and the CD has a wide range of styles. My Wife and I have been trying to learn to play the Uke ourselves and have been listening to James King, Jake Shimabukuro, Lyle Ritz, Herb Ohta Jr. & Led Kaapana. They have been great instrumental CDs to listen to but Victoria Vox's is the only CD that we sing along with and actually have the nerve to strum along. Lastly, the "Christmas with You" track makes us long for the Holidays. Check out her website too.

Great Album, January 11, 2008
This review is from: And Her Jumping Flea (Audio CD)
I first discovered the music of Victoria Vox by chance. Last spring I read in the local paper that Mindy Smith was playing at the historic Attucks Theater in Downtown Norfolk, VA with local Julie Clark slated to open. Being an admired of Mindy Smith and having heard a lot of good things about Julie Clark I decided to go, not to mention wanting to see the inside of the recently restored Attucks. So I get there, and as I am walking through the lobby I see Julie Clark socializing; so I go into the auditorium and find my seat. While I'm waiting for the show to start, a young blond woman comes on the stage and is checking the intonation of a guitar and I wonder who the cute blond is. A few minutes later I see Julie Clark take a seat a few rows in front of me, so am thinking "who is opening?" Turns out that "guitar tech" was opening act Victoria Vox. A mix of her own songs and covers Her Jumping Flea is Victoria Vox's first ukulele album and I think it really showcases her talents as a songwriter (not to mention her wonderful voice and great personality, which is also evident with her stage presence and her interaction with fans), the covers are good also. I have all of her cd's (Still, Ultra Pink, in between, and this one) and am eagerly awaiting the release of her new cd in a couple months. I'll probably get her work with The Tres Femmes in the meantime to hold me over. She's inspired me to get a uke of my own. If you get a chance, you should check out her website, there's lot of cool stuff there. Oh yeah, she has a clip if her "Ukin at the Wheel" on YouTube.

We love Victoria!, March 17, 2010
Her music is so well done. She is a real person, who has a real passion. Men, women, and children all love her music, which is a rare find. P.S. If you ever get a chance to see her live, do it. You will fall even more in love with Victoria and her music!
