Edie sedgwick: Her Love Is Real...But She Is Not (DeSoto),
By Young Music Reviewer "Chris" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews

I wouldn't call it a ressurection of art. But Edie Sedgwick really has something here. "Martin Sheen" sounds like Kasabian dueting with Jane's Addiction. "Sigourney Weaver" has humour that you wouldn't believe and one that will make an unexpectred jump straight into the CD Collection of Andy Dick. Believe me when I say that despite Edie's love for humour and quite deadly groove, passing up on this isn't an option...at least without a first listen. Please buy this or take a listen to the reshaping of Art-Rock.

Fan-ta-bulous....,

Ok, let me start by saying, it's creative. It's different but in a good way. It was hard to believe that after hearing the entire cd from start to finish without once having the urge to skip a song, that Edie Sedgwick (aka Justin Moyer of El Guapo) not only is, in my perspective, a cross between Eminem's constant criticism towards celebrities except with smarter politically driven remarks and the equavalency of David Bowie's 80's work performed by Kraftwerk and sung by Perry Farrell. He is a one-man show since he's traveling band is an iPod. The drag is a bit much, I actually wish it were less sloppy and much more glamorous, but that's all part of the show. The songs feel shorter in length then they are which is good in a way since they are stuffed with beats that sometimes overpowers your own thoughts. I did catch myself however singing them out loud and eventually wondering which of the songs is not only the stupidest but also my favorite off the album. Enjoy.
