Dr. Chelsea Kearns returns to Rumor, MT as a forensics expert. She returns to face Pierce Dalton, the brother of her best friend, the town's mayor -- and her former lover. Unable to resist each other, Chelsea and Pierce pick up where they left off. Chelsea finds herself with child. Can she keep her news secret? What will the good mayor do when he finds out? I liked this book because the lead characters were a bit older than the norm and they were really well-drawn and likeable. This book also does a nice job of adding an undercurrent of mystery because Chelsea is investigating the murder of a town resident who evidently had a secret life.

Favorite scene with Chelsea-
Working hard when the fire rages out of control.

Favorite scene with Pierce-
Pouring his heart out at the end, asking her to marry him, afraid she was going to leave.

Together-
When they first meet after eight years.

What did you like about Chelsea-
A smart cookie re: her job. A no-nonsense woman. She wanted to be a part of the community and Pierce's family.

What didn't you like about Chelsea-
That Chelsea would think to keep the secret of the pregnancy from Pierce. She could sleep with him just fine, but not tell him about the baby or let go of the past to make a future with him?

What did you like about Pierce-
He wanted to make a future with Chelsea. He was a hardworker and cared about his family and community. Wears his heart on his sleeve, both good and bad.

What didn't you like about Pierce-
He got angry a lot. He could be too demanding. He, at first, seemed to blame Chelsea for the past.
