Book Description

October 1, 1995
Nancy's breaking the story... and it's sure to break some hearts.

Life at Wilder University is proving to be full of surprises and scandals. Bess is beginning to think that Brian Daglian is different from all the guys she's gone out with before... and she's about to find out why. And George has been asked out by the most popular guy around-- quarterback Scooter Berenson-- only to end up the most hated person on campus!

Nancy, meanwhile, has signed on with "Wilder Times", the university paper, and she may soon break a story about Scooter that could leave him in disgrace or even in danger. But first she must deal with Ned, who's coming up for the weekend. And the way she's feeling about her new life, his visit could mark the biggest break of all.

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ned and Nancy, July 10, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: On Her Own (Nancy Drew on Campus #2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I wish that Ned and Nancy would get back together. I just know they still love each other. Plus, there is hardly any mystery. By the way, whatever happened to Dave and Burt? They were the ideal people for Bess and George.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting New Nancy Drew, October 4, 2003

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: On Her Own (Nancy Drew on Campus #2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Teen-sleuth, Nancy Drew, is now out in the real world, attending Wilder University, with her two best friends, Bess Marvin and George Fayne. Bess is dating Brian Daglian, a guy who she thinks is different from other guys his age, and George has been asked out by the most popular guy at Wilder University, Scooter Berenson, who also just happens to be the quarterback of the football team. Meanwhile, Nancy is now a reporter for the Wilder Times, which is the newspaper for Wilder University, and she thinks that she soon will be breaking a huge story, involving Scooter, which could leave him both in danger and disgrace. Meanwhile, Nancy's boyfriend, Ned, is coming for the weekend, and Nancy doesn't know how to confront him about her mixed feelings involving their relationship.

As opposed to the usual Nancy Drew formula, which deals more with murder, and mysteries, NANCY DREW ON CAMPUS involves a lot of different plots involving relationships. Both friendships, and romantic relationships. Still, it's an exciting novel, in which I think will pick up new readers for the Nancy Drew book series.
