I have had the pleasure of catching up on my to-be-read stack this winter. Wow, it was a pleasure to settle in on a snowy afternoon with the latest Georgina Devon novel, HER REBEL LORD. I thought it really showcased her strengths as an author. She uses the history of the times to provide a strong back-story for the equally strong characters to act out their conflicts. I like it that the heroine has her own motives (love of family and concern for others) which made her very sympathetic. I also liked the fact that she has her own skills and abilities as a healer. The sizzling passion and intrigue with the hero pulled me right into the danger and adventure. (Did I mention that the hero is stubborn, sexy, devious and perhaps a litte hard-edged? Never fear. Our heroine can handle all he tosses her way.) This is an excellent tale that weaves characters, actions and a wonderfully sensuous love story very believably into the era. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book has double the enjoyment with a romance and a suspense-filled plot. Both characters are very strong and have "duties in life" that they feel very strongly about. They are sort of thrown together on a mission that keeps the attraction going between them, and the attraction is very intense for both. Lots of good history and great minor characters, too. Jenna's father and Duncan's mother are wonderful additions to the story.
