Book Description

Logan Corbett, registered nurse, suddenly becomes the guardian of her 10-year-old sister, Kim. A former prizewinning gymnast, the girl was seriously injured in the same plane accident that killed their parents. Logan admits she's overly protective of Kim, but only wants what she thinks is best for her. Dr. Zachary Dellinger, a pediatrician at the hospital where Logan works, suggests that Kim should attend a summer camp for children with special needs. Logan agrees, but on one condition--that she will volunteer to be the camp nurse so she can keep a close eye on Kim. Under starlit skies and breezy summer days, Logan struggles with her growing attraction to the handsome pediatrician--all the while, battling the urge to hold on too tightly to Kim. Will Logan ever be able to let go enough to allow love into both their lives?

5.0 out of 5 stars Devotion and Romance April 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Logan had longed to start a family before her divorce two years prior, but unexpectedly finds herself being a parent to her younger sister after their parents are killed in an accident that injured her sister. It isn't easy being a nurse and instant single parent to Kim. Logan is devoted, if over-protective. When she agrees to send Kim to a summer camp for kids with special needs at pediatrician Dr. Dellinger's suggestion, and volunteers to be the camp nurse so she can be close to Kim, she finds herself falling for the handsome doctor.

Well-developed characters, a brisk pace and emotions the reader can truly feel make this a sweet and charming story of devotion and romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-Written and Entertaining April 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just finished reading Her Sister's Keeper and was very impressed with the smooth flow, and especially the manner in which the author "showed" the scenery and characterizations, making me feel part of the story. In this sweet, emotional tale, not only the younger injured sister receives much-needed therapy from a camp for the handicapped, the older sister faces her own over-protective nature as well as learns something about emotional distrust when it comes to love.

Everything about this story was perfect. The price, the length, the emotion, the twists and turns that kept me reading, and the budding love story that will make you wonder if it survives the challenges. Although I'm selfish with my five stars, I couldn't find a reason not to give this author what she deserves. Kudos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartfelt and romantic May 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved "Her Sister's Keeper." Logan, a dedicated nurse with a bad marriage behind her, is overprotective of her young sister Kim, a former gymnast who is disabled due to a plane accident that killed their parents. Afraid to trust due to her disastrous marriage and determined to devote her life to her sister, Logan tries to ignore the attraction she feels for the handsome doctor Zach Dellinger. Zach realizes Logan's overprotectiveness isn't good for Kim. He persuades Logan to let Kim attend a special summer camp. Logan agrees only if she can go along too as camp nurse. What unfolds is a beautiful and emotional story as Logan and Zach get to know each other as they work together and spend time under starry skies. Zach slowly makes Logan realize she needs to loosen the reins she's holding on Kim so her sister can blossom. As Logan learns what a dedicated doctor and trustworthy man Zach is, she slowly lets go of the chains around her heart. This is such a heartwarming story. The characters are likeable and will have you rooting for them to find their happy-ever-after.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story! August 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am not rating this book higher because of its ending. It feels like that the author wanted to finish it and just ended the story line without any regard to the characters.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not much story for the money September 14, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The story line was cute. BUT it was a very short book. I would never have paid
the amount of money I paid , if I knew it was only a little over 100 pages.
Book was OK just not worth that amount of money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mountain Romance July 30, 2012
Format:Paperback
The romance of the mountains in "Her Sister's Keeper" is every bit as enthralling as the love story between Zack and Logan. Anyone who loves picturesque scenery along with a romantic story will enjoy this book. Logan, whose first marriage was to a doctor, is gun shy when another doctor, Dr. Zack, lets her know he's attracted to her. Logan's life is complicated enough with her nursing job and the responsibilities of caring for her disabled sister. She's not ready for a new man in her life--particularly not another doctor. Whether it's the mountain air or a softening heart, Logan eventually seems ready to give Zack a chance, but is she doing the right thing?

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming story June 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
"Her Sister's Keeper" is one the most heartwarming stories I've read in a long time. Logan is a nurse whose sister was badly injured in an airplane accident. She accompanies her sister, Kimberly, to a camp for children with various physical disabilities. There, Logan meets Dr. Zachary Dellinger. She finds herself attracted to him but fights her attraction, because she's already been burned once, being divorced from a doctor who put his profession ahead of her. The reader wonders how Kimberly will react to new experiences and new people at the camp. Just as important, will Logan learn to love and trust again?

It's obvious that the author, Sydell Voeller, a former nurse, writes from experience. This lends validity to this outstanding story, and it gives a more realistic picture of what a camp for disabled children is like. We need more stories like this.
