4.0 out of 5 stars A solid follow-on, but. . . ., May 6, 2000
This review is from: "Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
This album is a must have for any serious Tijuana Brass fan; however, for the casual listener, it may be a bit disappointing.

There are many recognizable hits included; What Now My Love, Brasilia and This Guy's In Love With You taking the lead. A number of hidden gems are included in the lesser known pieces, such as A Banda, Flamingo, and Wade in the Water. Herb and the Gang also present interesting interpretations of My Favorite Things and Cabaret.

It's not as good as the first Greatest Hits collection, but TJB GH Volume II is a very enjoyable album that any fan of good instrumental music will play again and again.

Well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars HERB ALPERT & THE TIJUANA BRASS GREATEST HITS VOLUME 2, December 17, 1999

This review is from: "Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
THIS COMPILATION IS A MUST FOR THE SERIOUS TJB FAN. IT HAS IT ALL AND SHOWS THE TREMENDOUS VERSATILITY AND RANGE OF HERB AND THE BRASS. THESE SELECTIONS ALLOW US TO FONDLY REMEMBER AND ENJOY THE AWESOME TALENTS OF THE LATE GREATS "JULIUS WECHTER" ON MARIMBA AND "NICK CEROLI" ON DRUMS. ALL 8 (YES 8 INCLUDING THE UNBILLED WECHTER) OF THESE EXTRAORDINARY TALENTED GENTLEMEN SHOW JUST HOW GREAT EACH ONE WAS AS A MUSICIAN IN HIS OWN RIGHT! MY FAVORITE CUTS ARE TOE TAPPING "BRAZILIA" WRITTEN BY JULIUS, ALONG WITH "THE WORK SONG", "FLAMINGO" & "WADE IN THE WATER" WITH GREAT DRUMMING BY NICK. THE "TJB" AND "A&M RECORDS/CHAPLIN STUDIO" ARE GONE BUT WE FANS CAN RE-LIVE THAT GREAT SOUND BY ONE OF,I THINK, THE BEST GROUPS EVER RECORDED..."HERB ALPERT & THE TIJUANA BRASS". THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR THE GREAT MUSIC AND MEMORIES GUYS. WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALL.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dont Mind The Reviewer Below, February 26, 2005
This review is from: "Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
Hey guy, the only reason those songs you mentioned in your review dont appear on this album is because they appeared on Greatest Hits Vol 1, and you are reviewing Greatest Hits Vol. TWO!!!
