This review is from: Herbs of Grace: Becoming Independently Healthy (Paperback)
I found Herbs of of Grace to be both educational and "user friendly". Farida guides the reader through empowering steps to heal themselves on all levels. This is required reading for all my students and without fail they have all responded with enthusiasm for this wonderful book of wisdom. I highly recommend Herbs of Grace for students, pracitioners, and anyone who would like to empower themselves to wholeness and wellness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent references for true natropathic healthcare., October 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Herbs of Grace: Becoming Independently Healthy (Paperback)
Farida Sharan shares a wealth of information about the wonderful healing uses of Herbs. She incorporates with finite detail many herbal cleansing routines. When applying the information on an individual level, this reference will bring the reader to an understanding of the independently healthful lifestyle. A must have for anyone interested in natural health and herbal medicine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have For Any Herbal LIbrary, June 23, 2011
Herbs of Grace is a unique and valuable herbal reference. Unlike books that list herbs and their uses, with anecdotal references, Herbs of Grace is designed to be an inspiring resource, much like a patient/practioner guide, to natural medicine. Areas of holistic medicine fully incorporated into this book include the concepts of cleansing and rejuvenation, various forms of diet and why diet varies according to purpose (ie there is no diet that is good for everyone all the time, how do you know when one diet is better than the other, and how does that affect cleansing and rejuvenation), supportive naturopathic therapies (including bowel cleansing, poultices, heat, cold, etc, skin care, exercise, lifestyle, and so much more), herbal medicine, including close to 100 formula, with full description of uses, and an in depth view of the constitutional types recognized in Iridology, with related recommendations.

You would be hard pressed to find a more useful, well thought out or knowledgeable book on herbal medicine or on natural medicine, whether a layman or a professional. This book is a basic building block for a library on natural medicine/herbal medicine and if you choices are limited, and only one book is an option, this has to be it.

Also note, Farida Sharan is one the of leading pioneers of natural medicine living today. She has been recognized as one of the top five naturopaths of all time. That is no small achievement. This book is not someone compiling information from other sources. When you read this book, you have come to a 'living' source - believe me when I say you can tell the difference.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Home Resource for Natural Healing, January 7, 2011
By
This book is one of those few that you may keep for a lifetime and return to for inspiration
and advisory. It offers personal history, insight into iris analysis, and a true overview of
Naturopathy and the growing field of traditional natural healing. Herbal formulas are explained
clearly and the recipes given, along with detailed cleanses, classic guidance on healing diets,
and much more. Naturopathy /natural healing- particularly the traditonal scope of practice,
which incorporates water therapies, diet, hetbs, bodywork and movement therapies - is a health-
building, inspiring approach which has healed many diseases from cancer to lupus, and even more
importantly guides our culture towards an empowering view of sustainable and sustained health
and wellness. Much recommended book for home, professional reference, and for students all over
the country who wish to gain a clear insight into some naturopathic approaches from one of our
leading healers and teachers.
