1.0 out of 5 stars Hepatitis C help book - Take at your own risk!
The book is very informative. There is plenty of information about how widespread the virus of hepatitis is, what types there are, how small it is etc. Basically, the book presents some good information about HCV, which can be useful.

Furthermore, the author discusses herbs and some foods that promote healthy liver function and healthy immune system...

This is an essential book for Hep C. I have used the herbal protocol for 8 months and brought my viral load down to 69,000 and it is still dropping. Before I read this book, I had almost convinced myself that traditional treatment was the only way, even with its horrible side effects. Now, I am so glad that I found this book, contacted Dry Creek Herb Farm (referenced in the book) and started my daily herb treatments. The only side effect of the herb is that they don't taste very good, but with the results I have had they are starting to taste pretty good. The cost is very affordable also. Thank you Stephen Harrod Buhrner and Dry Creek Herb Farm.

This book is incredible. The natural remedies and diet choices along with supplement/vitamin advice is like visiting a top notch herbologist/naturopath who specializes in Hepatitis C. I own several books on the topic, but nothing compares to the wise, straighforward and warmly written text by these folks! Do yourself a favor and start feeling better soon! Buy this book today!

The book is very informative. There is plenty of information about how widespread the virus of hepatitis is, what types there are, how small it is etc. Basically, the book presents some good information about HCV, which can be useful.

Furthermore, the author discusses herbs and some foods that promote healthy liver function and healthy immune system.

Buhner claims that he contracted hepatitis c and got very sick and then he cured himself by taking some of the herbs he talks about in his book. He also provides two types of protocols that people may want to follow.
However, there's no any information about the author himself, when he contracted it, how long it took him to recover, what type of hepatitis C or any blood test results whatsoever. Personally, I find highly suspicious the fact that the author claims that was suffering from such a difficult disease, from which he recovered, but does not talk about his experience.

Also the book suggest a place where one can buy the herbs and the supplements. People are very nice at that place but they do not provide any useful information when it comes to the protocols.

I did a research online and could not find any interview with Buhner about hepatitis. I could not find any feedback by people who tried that protocol, nothing! I could not find any of Buhner's contact information either, not even an email. The only thing that I actually found were some testimonials on the website selling the herbal protocols. But after updating the site they were gone.

I, myself, have hepatitis c and tried his herbal protocol #2 for over two months and followed exactly what the book said. However, I stopped because instead of getting better it thinned and dried my skin and gave it some yellowish color, some of the supplements like N.A.C. made me extra tired and on top of that I got bigger dark circles under my eyes that don't go away even after I stopped the protocol. During that time i was feeling out of it most of the time and lost my appetite and had this feeling of fullness in my stomach and respectively lost a lot of weight. It's been a while since I stopped and overall I think that the protocol exacerbated my condition rather than helped me.

What I found the most helpful was the list of symptoms and corresponding herbs that alleviate those symptoms.

I got very ambiguous results from that protocol. Perhaps some people may get better ones.

This book does not provide any useful follow up option for the treatment it provides!

5.0 out of 5 stars Herbs for Hepatitis C and the Liver, October 19, 2011

This review is from: Herbs for Hepatitis C and the Liver (A Storey Medicinal Herb Guide) (Paperback)
Herbs for Hepatitis C and the Liver by Stephen Harrod Buhner is a must buy book for everyone that has Hepatitis C, or other liver issues, or knows someone that does. This book could help you with Hepatitis C treatment where traditional medicine prescribed by doctors has failed (or is unaffordable).

Herbs for Hepatitis C and the Liver gives those who have this disease hope. Above all else, it offers this, and when looking at the research of those using the herbs for Hepatitis C, it is worth a shot.

The book covers the basic information about Hepatitis C, such as how it is possibly contracted, what it does to your body, and much more. It also explains how viruses act in general, which is quite helpful for people to understand it, especially those who don't know much about microbiology.

The main portion of the book is about the herbs that can be used for the liver and those who have Hepatitis C. The information covered about each of the herbs suggested is quite detailed, and the author does a great job explaining it all. By the end of the book, you'll know much more about using herbs and should feel comfortable using them, even if you've never used herbal remedies before.

One of the most important chapters included in the book is the part on the HCV protocol for the treatment of hepatitis c with the herbal treatments. If you don't know where to buy these herbs, there are references in the back of the book that you can contact to purchase the herbs online or over the phone.

A healthy diet for Hepatitis C is essential to those who have it. There is more that can be done with this though, which is adding in the herbal supplements as part of the Hepatits C treatment suggested in this book. I highly recommend this book for everyone to read that has the disease and also to those who know and love those who have it.

Like new edition, well packaged. I had hoped to find additional information, or something more up to date than the compounds I have been using the last 30 years. This is an excellent book for someone new to the subject.

This book is not much more than a sales brochure; although it does have some useful info that explains lab tests, but you can find that online for free. The author gives a one-size-fits-all formula that is sold through a herb supplier. He could give the proportions for the mixture, but if he did that then you'd make it yourself instead of buying it from the supplier. I suspect he gets a kickback.
Some people may benefit from the mixture(if it fits them)but I have no doubt most wouldn't because herbs have to be tailored to an individual, not a disease label. The formula may very well make you sicker than what you are...BEWARE!
